Another year has passed. It brought us many events, challenges, and “plot twists”. When the world keeps changing every second, one can’t really plan much for any distant future. But let’s try. Ready, set, go!
Recap
AIMP for PC
We issued three releases – just as we had planned. However, the focus of the last release – v5.10 – was aimed at something entirely different: v5.10 got some old, moderately popular features that our users had been requesting from time to time. What’s more, we produced a special assembly on Wine (Linux). You can access links to DEB and RPM packages in the “Download center”.
AIMP for Android
In 2022, out of the three releases we had planned, we produced two – v3.22 and v3.30. It’s worth noting that the latter one, aside from the features we had planned, also got experimental support for playback from clouds via WebDAV
Audio Cutter
De facto, the project failed: our users are unhappy with the separate application, we are unhappy with all the downsides. So, without further thought, in v3.30, we restored the feature that allowed to set a ringtone from within the application (i.e., the feature is now what it had been before the Audio Cutter utility). R.I.P
Roadmap
This year we unfortunately won’t poll for new features – we’ll continue to work on what we promised last year:
AIMP for PC
- Built-in catalog of Internet radio stations
- Sound Recorder
- DLNA support
AIMP for Android
- We’ll support more cloud services
- We’ll make tooltips more detailed and add them to more UI elements. We’ll introduce assisting wizards
We’ll try to make the player’s interface more friendly for new users - Tag editor
We’ll start with the ID3 and APEv2 formats, then – Vorbis Comments, after – MP4 and RIFF - We’ll start researching the synchronization between the PC and mobile version, and also back to the music library problem
Cинхронизация между ПК и мобильной версией – то что хочется уже много лет.
“and also back to the music library problem” Soo there is any chance to get music library like in others Android music players?
