I prefer to listen to music of many tempos and styles, each in their own time, not so often all in the mix. Here's the deal, I have playlists dedicated to upper tempo music, where I prefer reasonably fast crossfades, from one to three - four seconds, but I also have playlists dedicated to very slow tempo ambient kind of music, where again crossfades would preferably be much longer, 10 to 20 seconds even more to keep the music flow fairly constant and smooth without too long silent moments while the songs fade in or out very slowly the way they were recorded (personally not a fan of extremely long fade-ins/-outs even in ambient style of music, but maybe that's just me). This would be nice added functionality to individual playlists control.

Another implementation idea for the cross fade or mixing settings would be multiple presets in menu, a bit like there are presets for EQ (that can be automatically loaded to each song). There would be a selection of for example five presets like, 1. no cross fade, 2. short 1-2 sec., 3. medium 3-5 sec., 4. long 7-10 sec. 5. extra long 10-15 seconds. User should be able to tweak the presets and maybe add one's own too, but those mentioned would be the defaults that are provided out of the box (and could be reset back to when needed). And like EQ presets can be made to auto-load to a song, cross fade presets would be tied to certain playlists, but even possibility to manually choose from certain presets from a main window menu instead of having to go through each input parameter from Sound Effect /Mixing tab each time you listen to different tempo and style of music would be a bliss.

Hello,
(I've been using aimp for quite some time and love it, This is my first time posting in the forum incase I've made this post incorrectly - please guide me to the proper channel - thanks)
I would like to submit a feature request regarding the Cross Mixing (Crossfade) option in AIMP.
At present, Cross Mixing is a global setting controlled via the DSP Manager. While this works well in general, it creates limitations when using different types of playlists. For example, some playlists (DJ-style, continuous mixes, casual listening) benefit from cross mixing, while others (albums, classical music, live recordings, gapless sets) require it to be fully disabled.
Requested feature:
Ability to enable or disable Cross Mixing per playlist, instead of only globally.
Ideally implemented as:
A playlist property or setting (e.g., “Enable cross mixing for this playlist”), or
Playlist-specific DSP overrides that can supersede global DSP settings.
Why this would be useful:
Eliminates the need to manually toggle Cross Mixing when switching playlists.
Improves workflow for users who maintain multiple playlists with different playback requirements.
Keeps global DSP settings intact while allowing contextual behavior per playlist.
Aligns well with advanced playlist management already present in AIMP.
Optional enhancements (if feasible):
Per-playlist DSP presets.
API/plugin hooks allowing DSP state changes when a playlist becomes active.
Thank you for considering this request. AIMP is already an excellent player, and this addition would further improve usability for advanced users with mixed listening scenarios.
Best regards,
