(the character limit made for an awkward title, hah)
I access a lot of music via rclone mount. It's added as 'local files'. When adding directories from this source, AIMP seems to read the music files in their entirety. This causes rclone to sequentially cache every single file being added to AIMP. Apart from the issue of that in itself, it also really slows things down when AIMP scans (on application launch, periodically, manually, whenever).
In contrast, Foobar2k for example allows me to quickly add files to a queue and only triggers rclone's cache when playing each individual file, making for a far smoother experience. Of course, I'd rather use AIMP these days.
How can I mitigate or preferably avoid this issue? I know I can opt for manual scans only but that isn't too useful for me and still causes the problem.
It may be my imagination but I think when I was initially setting AIMP up that I saw something about the degree to which it analyses files, which may be relevant - are there some options like that? I haven't had any luck finding them again, if they exist (I've found the various settings dialogs in AIMP pretty disorganised..)
The 'cloud files' functionality isn't relevant to me as it exists but I'm also wondering, does it handle files better with regard to this issue?

No, AIMP reads meta information when adding the files. if file tags contains a CUE, file will be splitted to few items in the playlist.

I have same problem. If I add several files to a new playlist they become clustered as one, and don't stay as separate files. I can't distinguish individual files and I can't delete individual tracks. I have used AIMP for years and it never happened before.
