Hello all,

This is the Sound Effects (Ctrl + E) > Equalizer window with the Presets dialog popup in the right side.


I would like to suggest if the Presets menu could be added into the Equalizer window. I think it would be more convenient to use it this way, instead of clicking and opening several dialog popups. I think it would be a nice change for upcoming AIMP5 as well.

Hello,

I would like to suggest one thing to developers, as for AIMP for Windows as for AIMP for Android.

• A new preset for low bitrate streaming music radiostations
• A new preset for low bitrate streaming vocal/speech radiostations

As you know, there is still a lot of radio stations which broadcast using low quality streamings. Most of these stations broadcasts music, but some are only vocal or speech, as political debate shows or sports transmissions. So, I would like developers to add these two new presets for an optimal listening experience, even when listening to low bit-rate radio stations.

Hello all,

I was just reading a forced translation of this thread via Google Translate and it is a little hard to understand some sentences correctly. So, I am asking for this in plain English: will we got an Android TV compatible build of AIMP for Android in the near future? Almost any smartTV OS has a crappy performance today, but Android TV is doing pretty well in that regard, and I thought it would be just marvelous to have such a wonderful audio player in my TV, whoa!

Hello all,

I would like to make a minor suggestion in AIMP for Windows.



I would like to see the context menu items in this order:

• Play
• Add to playlist
• Open in new playlist
• Add to queue
• Edit tags
• Convert to other format

So, I only ask to switch second and third options, because I think the Add to playlist option is used much more often than the Open in new playlist option. At least, it is more useful, I think.

Hello all,

First and main, happy new year 2020 and decade to all the AIMP users!

I was thinking of a new feature to AIMP for Windows, which I needed some time to be honest. Would it be possible to make the Preferences window to be shown as a separate window? So, you can have 2 AIMP windows at the same time: the main AIMP window and the Preferences window. This would be an optional feature (enabled or disabled). If someone does not want to use 2 AIMP windows, he/she could use as it is now.

I think of this because sometime I needed to test some settings while playing some tracks and had to switch between the AIMP main window and the Preferences window, very, very often. So I think that with 2 simultaneous AIMP windows it will be easier to test some AIMP features by using the AIMP main window and the Preferences window at the same time.

Artem,

I would like to suggest something for AIMP for Windows. Yes, I have already read that AIMP for Windows will be in a "maintenance mode" soon, so this feature could be denied after all. Anyway, I would like to tell you a little bit about this idea.

In Windows 10, some programs offer a few Tasks. These "Tasks" are specific actions of a pinned program in Windows 10 Start menu. You can access quickly to these tasks by opening the pinned program icon's contextual menu in the Windows 10 Start menu (you can do this usually by clicking the mouse' secondary button over the icon).

For instance, let's take a look at Mozilla Firefox tasks in Windows 10 Start menu (under the Tareas section):

In that screenshot above you can see what are the Mozilla Firefox available tasks:

• Open a new tab
• Open a new window
• Open a new, private browsing session window

I was thinking this: AIMP could add its Utilities as Tasks:


This way, one could run any of these 2 AIMP's utilities quickly by using its pinned program's tasks, without opening the AIMP folder in the classic list of installed programs in Windows.

And I think this is all I could ask for AIMP for the time being. This player is already plenty of options, so I can't complain.

Hi everyone,

I would like to talk about the AIMP's UA strings, as for Windows as for Android.

Humbly, I would like to suggest adding these user agent strings below to each AIMP build, so we have these:

Suggested default user agent strings for AIMP for Windows

• AIMP/4.60 [already included]
• AIMP/4.60 (Windows NT 10.0)
• Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Windows NT 10.0) AIMP/4.60
• [custom UA option] [already included]

Suggested default user agent strings for AIMP for Android

• AIMP/3.0
• AIMP/3.0 (Android/8.1.0) [already included]
• BASS/2.4 (compatible; Linux; Android 8.1.0; Mobile) AIMP/3.0
• [custom UA option] [already included]

For both cases (Windows & Android):
(1) This string says: "Hey, this is who I am". This is the simplest user agent string.
(2) This string says: "Hey, this is who I am, and if you want to know in what platform do I work, now you know". This string includes not only the AIMP version, but the OS name and OS version as well.
(3) This string says: "So, you don't know what AIMP is, and therefore don't you allow me to stream? OK, here I include some more popular references if you need some well-known standard things". This string is probably the most standard-compliant.

By the way, these user agent strings below (from the Windows' build) should be removed:

Deprecated, useless user agent strings

• Mozilla/4.0 (compatible)
• Mozilla/5.0 (BASS/2.4; ru-ru) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko)

Please, remember all these things are just my humble suggestions. Please, don't take it so serious —I'm just trying to help AIMP becoming more widely compatible, globally.

Hello,

This is a minor suggestion.

If I play a track in AIMP and that track doesn't have any metadata, then its filename is displayed in the Windows' taskbar, for example:

***Track01

My suggestion is to show the file's extension as well, like:

***Track01.flac
***Track01.mp3
***Track01.m4a

A friend of mine —fan of both AIMP & AIMP for Android players— asked for this feature in AIMP for Android:


He wants the Lyrics tab in AIMP for Android as well.

I don't know if this is possible but I wanted to post this desire, just in case.

Hi Artem and all the AIMP Team,

I would like to suggest a few fields for AIMP v4.10:

Field: Compilation
Values: 0 or 1 [or you can use a checkbox as well]
Reason: If you have a compilation CD —i.e.: different artists under the same album name— it's useful to indicate all those tracks belong to a same CD. Some players, like iTunes, will s***w it up the sorting with a track per album. So, if a compilation CD has 15 tracks, it will create 15 albums with 1 track each. But if you add the Compilation field, you can select all tracks in a folder, and check the Compilation field, and save that info.

Field: Encoded by
Values: [any]
Reason: This is the name of the software used to encode an audio file. The default value could be just AIMP or AIMP v4.10, for instance, but it would be nice if one can edit freely.

Another possible fields could be:

Field: Rating
Values: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5
Reason: I don't know if there's a standardized, universal method for rating in metadata. If so, it would be interesting to add it as well.

Besides the suggestion by ariosto, I'm thinking of another quite useful fields for classical music, like Conductor, Orchestra, Period & Soloists.

Then, you have the catalog fields, like ISRC & UPC, but I have to admit that most people usually don't fill them.

Finally, Mood & Style could be smart options to filter music in AIMP's Music Library. For instance, let's say you can label tracks from different genres or styles but you set Mood as Rain. So you could get together chillout, deep house, piano solos, classical music, jazz and tango music tracks specially selected for rainy days. Or you could set Mood as Hacking and have under that field trip hop, lounge, post rock, industrial and ambient music for late night coding.

If you need to create a poll, please select the fields you like them most.

I'm using AIMP4 on Windows 10 64 bits with an ESI Juli@ soundboard right now and its latest drivers: Juli@ v1.21 (64bit).

I'm using the RCA output. I have a bunch of options under MENU > Preferences > Playback > Playback options > Device, but I'm not sure which's the best for my case:

• What are ASIO, DirectSound & WASAPI?
• Which one should I use with AIMP and Why?

I'm pretty sure this question has already asked & answered in any AIMP's russian forum. However since I don't understand Russian —and Google Translate doesn't always help—, I need some English speaker to explain this to me, please‼ Would that be possible?

Hi all,

I think I'm about to do the dumbest question about AIMP, ever.

I have just created the AIMP entry for Wikipedia en español [Spanish Wikipedia] [they deleted it because they consider the AIMP entry irrelevant ], based on information in Russian Wikipedia. It's just my very first edit on this article, so I'll enhance it in the near future.

Well, my question is: what AIMP stand for actually? All my life I thought it stood for Artem Izmaylov Music Player, but in other Wikipedias they say Artem Izmaylov Media Player. I mean, since AIMP2, we're essentially talking about a music player only, not about a general media player, right? So, does it should be Music rather than Media now?

Artem, are you there reading this? What's the official meaning for the M in AIMP?

Hi all!

Firstly, have a Happy New Year‼

Since a new month has just begun, I wanted to change both AIMP's skin & icon. I was able to change AIMP4's skin without any problem at all. However, I wasn't able to change AIMP4's default icons. AIMP says I need admin privileges. I am admin on Windows 10. In fact, the only thing I can do is just associate both audio & skin files to work with AIMP4 — not icons.


What I have to do in order to change AIMP4's icons? I've already downloaded some from here, uncompressed them, copied them to C:\Program Files (x86)\AIMP\Icons and restarted AIMP4.
