This command get used to translate file paths that send by Linux via command line to AIMP app.

It IS a fact that after removing the command in question, AIMP started recognizing paths like /B/MUSIC and I was able to run one of my playlists without drag-and-drop of files.
The only problem is to figure it out why no version of AIMP will take my settings. On Spyware 10 & 11 these settings work just fine but not when AIMP's run through wine.

What exactly you've patched?

"Patched" is a strong word but:
1. The start script was named wrong. You had named it .bash which makes it useable only for bash shells. Other shells like zsh or fish might ignore it because they'll be looking for .sh extension, altough linux doesn't really care about extensions, some shells might still look at the extension. Linux is looking for what's inside the file to determine what it is. The extension is just conveniency for humans. So I made it universal by renaming its extension to .sh.
2. The start script again: the first line of it was all wrong and redundand. This line is to convert linux paths to Windows, when what a Linux user needs is the other way around - convert Windows paths to Linux paths, so that you can run any playlist that contains /B/MUSIC path directly into AIMP and AIMP would recognize it thanks to Wine.
3. Changed the config path of AIMP in order to make it portable and so that the user wouldn't lose their settings, if they (accidentally or not) delete wine.

This is what the edited script looks like now:

Plus a few other changes but they're only for my computer, so not worth mentioning.

Btw, if AIMP were made to require a dotnet 6 or newer, it would be a child's play to nativefy it and neither you or the user would be the wiser. I already nativefied another program for Windows and you can't even tell the difference.

I did what I could with 5.40, but I'd still prefer to test the native linux version bc when such a version is present, no normal linux user would wanna use the wine version.

Nice! Cuz the current build "for Linux" isn't exactly that and I had to fix some parts of the script in order to make it work properly. There are still some edges to smooth out, though. But for the most part it works a lot better than what came from the link "AIMP for Linux".

I'd love to test the native version whenever it comes out.

I have an idea how I can make AIMP run like a native program in Linux (if it works, I'll share it with everyone on this forum) but before that happens, I need to know which dotnet framework the latest AIMP requires. And I'm hoping it requires dotnet 6 or newer, because these versions will make things immensely easier.

This song (this is a screenshot from player on a PC)



appears like this when played in an online radio:



Which means that AIMP thinks "It" is the song name but it's not, it's part of the artist's name: "Mike Will Made-It". The radio owner sent me the song and when I play it on my PC, it appears as it should. But the player on my PC is not AIMP, it's Audacious. Which leads me to the conclusion AIMP is parsing the first dash wrongly.

When I go to "My Music/Folders" and click on the 3-dotted menu for each path (or hold my finger directly on each path), these are the options I get and there's no "remove".

Edit: I found it where it was, but it wasn't where you suggested. When I go to "My Music/Folder", I had to tap the horizontal 3-dotted menu where I was able to remove the old path and add the new SD card. You should have mentioned that because the obvious thing anyone would do would be to tap the vertical 3-dotted menu, not the horizontal one.

Recently my microSD card died, so I replaced it with a new one which works perfectly, AIMP reads it OK, as it should. But ever since I put the new microSD card in the phone, AIMP for Android keeps showing this message when I open the app - see the attached screenshot.

So, how do I make this message go away?

AIMP version is 4.11.1467 (08.09.2024), arm64-v8a, api33. That's the version according AIMP itself by clicking the "i" icon.

6 months ago I bought a Nokia G21 and originally it was with Android 11. Then, yesterday, they finally released a system upgrade to Android 12. As usual AIMP works quite fine but I discovered a weird visual bug with the skins of AIMP when certain phone settings are chosen.

When these precise settings have been chosen in Android 12's Settings app



This happens with AIMP's interface and it happens with ALL skins:



Since I have a backup of AIMP's settings, I tried by returning AIMP's settings to default to see whether it will get fixed but it didn't, so I restored my settings.

If you could fix that visual bug, it would be great bc the phone looks a lot better with the settings shown above. I'm not a fan of huge visual elements which is the default setting for Android 12, not to mention that with smaller visual elements I can see more of the playlists without having to change playlist settings.

In older versions of AIMP for android there was a possibility to tap and hold a finger on a track and then move it up and down to change in which position you want it to be played. But in the current version that's not possible. Is there any other way to rearrange the order of tracks in a playlist? Or should I get back to my old practice of enumerating file names?

Recently I bought a new phone - Nokia G21 and while all previous problems disappeared, a new one appeared. But IDK if it's Aimp bug or Android problem, that's why I am posting it here.

I run a playlist, it plays a few minutes and then suddenly stops. I discovered that if I pressed the power button once, so that the screen lits up, playback resumes. I don't even have to enter the pin to unlock the screen, it just has to be lit for playback to resume.

Any ideas why this is happening and how to fix it?

For almost a week now I have a new phone (cuz Xiaomi sucks, lol) and naturally I have to make the settings from scratch. For the most part I did it but the one thing that I do miss from the Windows AIMP are my own equalizer settings. I say "miss" bc 7 months ago I got rid of Windows for good but I still have the AIMP installer and the settings that go to it. So I'm wondering - can I import the equalizer settings from Windows into AIMP for Android and will they work?

On Linux nobody's forcing my hands to do anything and in case someone tries, I can always downgrade the version and forbid the updating of that particular software. On Android you can't downgrade anything. Because of that forcing your hands thing I abandoned Windows for good. Android is headed in the same direction.

As for the option you showed in the screenshot, it wasn't there. I had to reinstall the player for it to appear. I'll try with it the next time I go out but still - having that option enabled by default, that's not a good policy. It should be OFF by default and it should be up to the user to enable it.

P.S. I understand 60-70% Russian when I read it but I can't write or speak it, that's why I'm replying to you in English. Нашите езици използват сходна азбука и някои думи си приличат и затова разбирам повечето от написаното, но не мога да ти отговоря на руски.

I hadn't used the Android version for 2 months and now I find it plays every playlist in random mode without asking me for permission to do that. There's no option to disable that, which makes this player unusable for me. Looks like all Android devs are throwing their best efforts to make me migrate to a Linux phone ASAP...

The only thing that worked was to put a bat file (the file itself, not a shortcut) in "shell:startup".
