Hello Artem,

If I play local music files from a folder, I cannot sort (randomize) the list:



What do you recommend? Should I always create a Playlist or a Smart Playlist first from the desired music tracks, which then can be played "randomly"? How do you use AIMP to play music?

thanks a lot for your rapid response. Where do I finde the "randomize" option?
Or is it a better idea to create a new playlist / smart playlist, which can be sorted randomly oder alphabetically?

I would like to play audio files from my hard disk in random order, but always see which track was played i.e. half an hour ago (see all predecessors of the current track in the playlist). How can I play the audio files from a folder in random order (select folder --> play + activate shuffle mode), and the the playlist sort the audio files in this random order?

I have only managed to play the audio files of a folder ad-hoc and shuffled. But the right area of AIMP displays all tracks in alphabetical order in the current playlist.



So, I can't see which tracks were played before.

Hello AIMP pros,

I have some DJ sets and mixes that are divided in single parts/tracks, to be able to skip a track or jump to the next track in the mix.
All tracks of a mix are in one folder.
There're no silences at the beginning or end of a track.
But the AIMP playback is shortly interrupted everytime before the next track is played. Seems like AIMP is "calculating" something. This of course sounds stupid in a mix.
When I play the entire folder in JetAudio, the tracks are played sequentially as a mix with no pause.

I've already checked all settings where pauses between tracks are involved.
In the chapter "Mixing" only the checkbox "automatically jump to the next track" is activated.

Do you have any tips on how I can achieve smooth playback?


Addendum:
AIMP can play without breaks. Just tested it. But in some circumstances it plays with breaks, e.g. when I start playing the tracks from the folder.

I can let AIMP play a folder of tracks or select a few tracks from a folder and make them the "default" playlist. But how can I get AIMP to repeat this track list?
Because when the current playlist is finished, AIMP continues playing the next track from the next folder on the hard disc.

Thanks for your tips. I have created a playlist that includes the entire drive with music. It works.

And is ist correct that AIMP plays a track that I double-click directly in Windows Explorer, but then continues the current playlist?

Dear AIMP professionals,

I've recently started using AIMP as teh central media player on my Windows 11 PC.
I have a whole drive full of music and would like to get AIMP to play random tracks on the fly.
The music files are stored in folders and subfolders.



Therefore, I don't just want to play a specific folder, but really all tracks (from different folders).
Is that possible?

And is it possible to create a playlist (right area) where the file names are displayed?
Some MP3 tags are incomplete or incorrect, so I always use the file names in the format <Artist> - <Title>.

I've been using AIMP for a few days now and I love it. It's fast and purposeful. However, I can't find a tutorial to get to know the interface and all the features.
For example, I always have all tracks displayed in a narrow column on the right.



I previously used JetAudio, which displayed the currently playing tracks in a much wider playlist where you could easier read file name, duration, artist, etc. and where you could move the tracks to a different position with the mouse to change the order of the playlist.
Does this work with AIMP, too?
