I've been using AIMP for many years, and I've never encountered this problem.
The problem occurs with "
Pin
" > "
To Edge of Screen
" > "
Attached Mode
".
This is all under
Windows 10
, with "
Multitasking
" enabled,
but it also occurs without it!
However, it was through this that I first noticed the problem.
I've been using it this way forever, and it's only been some AIMP updates that the problem has occurred.
First, I'll describe what needs to happen in order to properly describe the action that will cause the problem, and then I'll describe what's happening now.
BEFORE THE BUG
If I have an application like Firefox in full screen, or whatever, when I launch AIMP, it snaps to the edge of the screen.
All Windows automatically resizes the available window space so that AIMP is considered beyond full screen (or something look like this).
When AIMP closes, all windows already open in full screen reclaim the newly available space.
If none were open, when they open, they will have access to the entire space.
This is completely normal and expected behavior.
SINCE THE BUG
If I repeat the same actions, i.e., opening AIMP, then opening applications in full screen, at first glance, everything goes well.
AIMP has indeed modified the space available for other applications.
It's when I close AIMP that everything goes wrong!
Whereas when I close it, Windows used to revert to full screen, and applications would resize automatically, this is no longer the case!
But it's worse than just having to manually resize windows:
Even without any trace of the AIMP process, Windows no longer has any access to the space at the edge of the screen it was using.
It is mandatory to either restart Windows or go into the settings to change a display-related option for this to reset.
TEMPORARY SOLUTION
To fix the problem, I have to:
Go to Windows "Settings"
Under "System"
Then "Multitasking" (even if you're not using it)
Here, you have to enable it, or if already enabled change one of the three options, which restores access to all the screen space that AIMP had locked!

TESTED FIXES
Check for Windows 10 updates = Already done!
Update graphics card drivers = Already done!
Test on a VM with a clean version of the last Windows 10 = Problem persists!
Reinstall AIMP (after manually removing every files, Reg keys, Associations if any remained) = Problem persists!
Try to disabled all features related to Windows "Multitasking" = Problem persists!
CONFIGURATION
Windows 10 Home (
x64
) 22H2 (
19045.5608
)
Intel i7-6800K
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti
NVIDIA Driver: 572.83
I hope all these details will help identify the problem.
