When I combine several MP3s into one file, the converter adds some noise right at the beginning of all the tracks.
Unfortunately this has been going on for a while now.
It's a shame, I always enjoy using the converter
Is there a chance for an update of the converter?

What app version you using? What conversion settings? Does the noise exists at beginning of all source files? or just some one?

Normalization to +98 db

It normalizes the volume to 98 dB. I guess the standard is 95, so it's only 3 dB more than average. So the + is slightly misleading

I just tested it without the normalization function and the noise at the beginning is gone.
So I suspect that the error lies in this function.

No, we're talking about a digital signal, so anything over 0 dB is clipping. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DBFS
Your converted audio would be completely unlistenable without the built-in anticlipping feature (Converter Preferences > Transform > Anticlipping).
