Hello! I'm fairly new user to AIMP, but have been using Winamp by turn of the millenium a lot and later Mediamonkey for both playback and library management. I like using AIMP portableapps.com version for listening currently, so I can keep my Mediamonkey Now Playing list intact for days for general library editing purposes. Just wanted to expose my history of digital music playback and management on PC a little.
I was a big fan of the late WinAmp and it's many plugins that provided a lot of control to the listening experience. One thing I missing from AIMP is automatic gap elimination with (adjustable gain treshold, preferably). The are sometimes long fade-ins or -outs or even near long silent starts or ends in my music that I listen to and it disturbs continuous background music playback somewhat, also it's inconvenient to use very long fade between the songs, as all songs ends are not similar in their structure. Hence auto gap elimination would be great feature to have.
Another feature I miss, is better or more comprehensible compression settings and ability to adjust the length of release times. There are obviously many approaches to the compression, but it would be nice if there was something that would visually or otherwise concretely tell the amount of compression that is being applied, the values now are very abstract. Maybe some presets that explain with words? I used to use Izotope Ozone for Winamp and still has in it MediaMonkey, something on those lines would be great. Currently it's very difficult to tell how much compression is applies and it's difficult to test it many times to tell what works or not just by trying to remember the numeric values.

Must say, I'm embarrassed and confused at the same time. I've had it on since my first time adjustments, but there was an ambient music piece that had obviously very long inaudible tail, where the gap killer didn't work which made me wonder if the threshold is out of range somehow. Could an adjustable range for threshold be possible? Thanks for pointing that feature out again for an AIMP newbie anyway.

Yes, I planning to add the options in near medium update
