Files with German characters not recognized in Italian device.

Hi. I loaded some classical music mp3's into my Miui 2.0 cell phone with Italian settings. The file names that use some German-specific characters (like "ä", "ü", ...) are not recognized by the AIMP program ("file not found"). The problem occurs also with VLC. Any suggestion, apart changing the file names or deleting Mahler?
