Whats new in v4.12 in comparing with v4.11?

• General: you no longer required to run application as administrator to install add-ons or setup the file associations
• General: support of easy-to-install technology for add-ons packages in *.zip / *.aimppack formats
• Audio Converter: the "shutdown computer after conversion" settings are no longer disabled during conversion operation
• Audio Converter: presets for the fdkaac command line encoder has been added (thanks to Soolo)
• Player: performance of file adding operation has been improved
• Playlist: auto-name generation algorithm now can use information from the Artist, AlbumArtist and Album tag fields

Public beta-testing for new version of our products - AIMP v4.12 Beta (change log) and AIMP for Android v2.50 Beta (change log) - has been started.

Today, our project celebrates its first anniversary - 10 years ago we have published first version of AIMP Classic! During this long period of a lot of work has been done! And in future, we will introduce new interesting features and innovations.



I want to say thanks to all, who participated in life of community of the project, to all, who reports about bugs and posts suggestions.

Special for the birthday we have prepared new version of AIMP - v4.10.

Whats new?

In this version we have focused on tag editor, music library and plugins API. Full list of changes can be found here.

What's new in AIMP v4.00 in comparison with v3.60?

Common

• Hints are now displayed when changing the slider in the DSP-Manager dialog via mouse wheel or keyboard
• Formatting templates - list of available functions moved to sub-menu
• Version number of application has been removed from names of binaries
• Macros - one-letter / two-letter names of macros are replaced with friendly names
• Macros - names in menu with macro list are highlighted now via bold font
• Macros - list of macros for playable file has been expanded, following macros have been added: %AlbumGain, %TrackGain and %Lyrics
• Macros - list of functions for text manipulation has been expanded

Interface

• New design of application
• Windows animation no longer inhibits UI
• Scrollbar thumb jumps to previous position when mouse cursor leaves scrollbar zone

Sound Engine

• Added an ability to specify the 352.8 KHz sample rate (for devices that support this sample rate)

• Performance of builder for shuffle queue has been increased at 3 times
• Quick Search - algorithm has been changed: the content that isn't satisfying to a search string hides now

• The "copy to" / "move to" functionality - an ability to save folder structure

File Adding Dialog

Player

• An ability to down mix the audio file to mono
• An ability to set track as ringtone (following formats are supported: MP3, FLAC, AAC, WAV, OPUS, OGG, M4A, MP4)
• An ability to switch off integration with system lock screen
• Player now checks the album art image in the "Covers" sub folder
