EQ Problems

I attached my phone to my PC and analyzed the frequency response of the EQ using white noise. As expected, the white noise is flat when the EQ is at 0dB. But when I put it at +15dB and -15dB, the white noise is not flat anymore. What is happening with the EQ?

Well, the measurements were taken after recording the white noise for some time. i took the screenshot after about 20 seconds. If i waited 20 minutes or hours it will be a straight line. In the 60s graph here, it shows a tolerance of about +-0.5dB

All measurements were taken after 60 seconds using a timer

Its better than before. The EQ is a lot more predictable at -15dB. Still not flat, but it doesn't have the spikes anymore

Speaking of spikes, i tested how a spiky EQ sounds. It seems like the new version just smooths the low frequencies more than before.

I understand that because the block size of the FFT-based EQ is 2048 points, the EQ cannot make all the low frequencies accurate. But it seems like the new version has even lesser points. Is this true or is it just smoothing the low frequencies more?

No, its the same. I've used different window function when build a convolution.

Measurements taken after ~30s. Please ignore the falloff above 20KHz, my ASIO driver is not doing a good job..

In this build, 8192 points are used for equalizer. I think, will be better to make it optional (for low-end devices)

При включении эквалайзера имеется скачок/щелчок, чем качественней экв, тем громче.
В "свет" пойдет?
