The situations is that AIMP is completely freezing from the moment it is loaded on the DSP/VST tab. The funny thing is that it has an engine similar to that of the Unlimited plugin, which already works perfectly in the VSThost of AIMP 5.3 RC. This plugin has long used it on AIMP 4.5/5.11 with the complement of Winamp_vsthost and works correctly.

Youlean Loudness

The plugin requests for 10 channels to process, but AIMP's sound engine was limited to 8.
So, plugin lead to memory corruption. I've fixed.

Hybrid Bus Compressor

The plugin asks for timestamp without checking host's capabilities (AIMP's host does not supports for timestamps and provide null-references as result).
Capabilities are documented feature of VST API, so this is a bug of plugin. Of course, I made workaround-solution for the plugin.

Same thing happens with Vola2 plugin

DPmeterxt X86/X64, this one even restarts AIMP and disappears from the DSP/VST tab

The dpMeterXT plugin has both issues...

Multiband compressor presented an error message

IEM's plugins expects for 64 (!) channels. So, it lead to issue #1.

Continuing the tests with AIMP 5.30.2526 x86 and x64 [32bit and 64bit]

When the plugin has both versions x86/x64 they are tested in both versions of AIMP, this because although in principle the plugins such as the host VST should behave, because it would not be the first time there are small differences that make a big difference of yield or software behavior [in this case of the player]. It should also be mentioned that as far as possible the most recent versions of the plugins were used; Almenos mostly. It is also mentioned that most of the plugins used are free, a few are demos [payment] versions.

Tests with several plugins were also carried out at the same time to show that the changes produced by each plugin go in chain, this is perceived via the resulting audio that is heard, but also to represent it and that it is noticed in the post are used plugins of measurement. Thus use some measurement plugins at the entrance [those placed in the highest part of the list] and until the output [the one placed in the lowest part of the list], also to notice the changes are made extreme adjustments in the Plugins options

The audio is mainly in stereo, although some movie clips are also used [Dolby 5.1] and some songs in Flac 5.1 for when multichannel plugins are tested.

SPAN [free] and presets menu, to show the changes between entry and exit. You can 'see' mono signs, stereo, mid/side, quadraphonics and 5.1/7.1. Span Plus [demo] is very similar and we will use it to monitor the entrance and see the original audio and span for the exit and see the modification.



MSED [free], much of the music is created in this stereo control system. It allows to manipulate of independent menera the MID signal [voices, low] and the SIDE signal [the stereo part]. The MID component is basically monaaural and is represented as a vertical bar, while the SIDE component shows the part of the audio stereo field and is manifested as a horizontal bar, when the two signs are the points we will have points filling the meter and so we will see how this distributed the audio.

Tests with AIMP 5.30.2526 RC

These tests are limited to VST plugins that have not worked well or do not work in the previous version of AIMP

We start with those who measure loudness.

** Youulean
We start with a small parenthesis, showing Youulean loaded in the VSThost for Winamo, where it works perfectly well, in a fluid and constant way using AIMP 5.11.



And now using the VSThost integrated in AIMP 5.30.2526 RC is working equally

The other VST of measurement that showed problems similar to Youulean is that of TBAudio dpMeterXT, which now works in a fluid and constant way.

The measurements provided by these plugins using them from software for audio edition [Audacy 3.3.3 and Acon Nausica 7.4.14] were verified using the same audio files and the results in AIMP as in those programs they coincide.



On the Sonic Anomaly side were the problems with two of their creations, Hybrid Bus Compressor [HB2 and HB5] and NOVA2. In this new version of AIMP RC it already works correctly both. The soloson catches with HB5 that is focused on audio with 6 channels.

** HB5 with audio 5.1 in its versions x64 and x86 [respectively]


HB5 with stereo audio, it can be noted that the 8 AIMP channels are active, although the sound file is stereo. Capture only in version x64



** NOVA2
It is working as the changes in SPAN [upper entrance span, lower out span] are shown. Although the plugin waveform graph is not showing anything the change in the audio is heard according to the controls.

- Measurement plugins already show normal operation and without affecting the reproduction of the audio files.

In all these cases, the plugins showed that they can be used with confidence in this version 5.30.2526 RC of AIMP.

AIMP 5.30 RC-2 fast test




Some changes in the host and in general of this RC-2 are noticeable, some plugins can already be used, some of those who already loaded them that make it faster.

We started with the novelty that the HPL Processor [Free] plugin in the previous versions appeared with an alert in the plugins section, and in the DSP/VST tab because it did not appear.


In this RC-2 version, we can already use it and it works well.
