Stuttering issue

Hey all

I'm using AIMP on my redmi note 8 pro to listen to opus, mp3, ogg, wav music files. However, there's a bit of stuttering, slight hiccups, nothing too extreme, maybe once every few minutes, very short but noticeable. This happens both when my phone is locked and unlocked. I'm using some cheap noname earbuds but I don't think that changes anything. The files are located on an SD card (specs https://i.imgur.com/TQHbcwO.png ). The files themselves are mostly opus 96kbps, some are as high as 1411kbps but the stutters happen with all kinds of files. I tried with high cpu priority on but while I felt like there were less stutters (maybe placebo), the stutters didn't stop.

I try not to clutter my phone and I can't think about any app (I don't even have many) which would be running in the background clogging the cpu, but I'm not sure (not sure how to check?).

Does anyone have an idea what could be the problem? Thanks all for reading

Try to switch on the "High CPU priority" option in Settings \ Sound \ Output

I tried and while I felt like there were less stutters (and I'm not even really sure), there still are a ton.

The stutters also seem to be happening a bit more at the start of songs. But I've had some happen halfway through the track.
