Could Aimp show a user defined default image (instead of a blanc / unicolored area) if there is no art / cover available for an album?

I agree with you.  As a workaround, you can define an image path on your PC and filename therein to be used in this case, and then put it in the Album Arts/Find in File window list in Prefs/Player/Additional Information, so that the specified image will be shown if AIMP doesn't find an embedded image.  Then whenever you see that particular image in the Viz window, you know it's from a file with no internal album art.  Mine is of an easy-on-the-eyes gal who I don't mind looking at in any case    But if you normally use external art instead of embedded, it gets more complicated.

It would be nice to have that option also for radio stations that haven't been assigned their own image.

Mine is of an easy-on-the-eyes gal who I don't mind looking at in any case    But if you normally use external art instead of embedded, it gets more complicated. 

A simple image would be enough, mine would be of an easy-on-the-eyes dalmatian I wouldn't mind looking at in any case.

Note that the setting indicates "Find in File Folder."  AFAIK that means that whatever image you pick must be in the same folder as the file being played, or referred to a subfolder there.  Move "dalmatiner-1-500.png" to the same folder your files are in then enter it first on your list as "dalmatiner-1-500*" (minus quotes of course).  Then it should display any time a file in that folder has no album art.  I'm assuming you only use embedded art for the files that do have art.

Other things: because you have "Find on the Internet' checked also, this may be affecting the behavior as well.  I would also suggest that you flush your cache (765MB is huge).

Sorry for my misunderstanding. Yes, images in the music files folders are shown, of course. But it is not possible to copy that dalmatian image to each album without images.

Yes, to let Aimp automatially find covers / art for the albums. I think it does not automatically download one if it finds one on the Internet.

I would also suggest that you flush your cache (765MB is huge).

Thanks Biff for the clarification.  Because my setup is very simple--all files in one folder and using only embedded art--my first suggestion works well for me but obviously does not when files are in more than one place and some are using external images already, which is probably a lot more common usage than mine is.

I hope that Artem implements your original suggestion for both files and stations.

Allt tracks in one single folder? Well, yes, that indeed sounds quite unusual to me. I have a single folder for each album. And the album folders are in different "music" folders.

Biff: you can make modifications to the LVU plugin (https://www.aimp.ru/?do=catalog&rec_id=834) and change the background image to anything you want, manually or by using the LVU Skin Preview Tool (https://yadi.sk/d/XpCp9HFW3HGp6f , https://yadi.sk/i/BWahPk8a3HPLZr).  Then switch to that Viz for radio stations or others:
