How could I make Aimp running with much lower CPU usage?

No, nothing at all.

Could be because of a bad auto-update to an antivirus application--try turning any and all of those completely off (temporarily) and then restart AIMP--any change?

I again restarted Aimp (without turning off the antivir programs, I wanted try that at the next restart) and suddenly it appears to be running like usual, at 0,5 to 4 % of CPU use. And it seems keept staying like that now. I hadn't changed anything (by intention).
