How could Aimp show the albums alphabetically sorted (and grouped) by folder in the middle pane:

Yes, just click the specified column to sort by it. In your case, this column is File Name

Hmmm, I would suppose clicking the file name column sorts by file names within folders and not by folders. What am I missing?
