Hello there,
First of all I love AIMP The whole program, Thanks for creating such a great audio software.
I have 2 questions
1. what is the function of anticlipping in aimp audio converter? what actually is anticlipping can u please explain me, I search google a lot for this but there is no exact answer in respect of audio conversion.
2. Is it useful when I convert m4a(itunes audio) to mp3 or flac to mp3??
If you help me by answering my question I'll be very much grateful..
Thank you

So does it make any difference in sound quality from converting lossy m4a to mp3?

First, I think this is a bad idea to convert lossless to lossy... Anyway:
1. Anti-clipping in AIMP is variation of the Limiter filter. Some audio formats allows to store audio signal with amplitude more than 0 dbFS. So, if you will convert audio from one of these formats to format that does not support this "feature", anti-clipping filter will help you to suppress crackles that is result of clipping.
2. Resampler is working only if source and target samplerates are different.
3. Dither is working only if source bitdepth more than target. Dither filter add some noise to resulting signal to suppress distortion which appears when decreasing sampling depth.
Anyway, MP3 encoder will decrease audio quality much more than this filters.
