Black_AVP, just wanted to tell you ‘thank you’ for your help. I don’t think I will be able to go through with the skin designs. I really don’t have the time. And you are right, the complexity is just too much especially for a novice like me. Though I really hope someone would do a good Dragon.

Meanwhile, I am thoroughly enjoying all your hi-if skins, so much so that I have become obsessed with them. That’s why I thought that I could design them myself, but it seems I am not very adept at it. I think the skins will look better if they are designed graphically rather than directly using a photograph e.g. like your RS-M253X skin.

I particularly like the Technics tape deck skins especially the RS-M253X, Dual C 846, the Sony TC-RX80, TEAC V-3RX (you forgot to add the Dolby logo) TASCAM and all reel to reel tape recorders.

I also like the RS-B905 skin but it is a little big for my screen. Is there a way to reduce the size of the skin to fit my screen?

The Onkyos are also nice (but you forgot to add the Dolby logo).

I came across this website http://www.digital-audio.org/aimp.html but there is no way to download these skins.

Also, are there any other hi-if tape deck skin projects that you are currently working on?

Black_AVP, I am trying to follow your example file. I have somewhat understood how switches work.

How do I get the lights to turn on and off?

I found a better larger image of the Dragon in png format.

I am "extracting" the switches, knobs and lights (see attachment). Hope I am on the right path...

I am going to need help with the VU meter and cassette.

I am trying to wrap my head around it. I guess the Dragon is too ambitious a project for a novice like me.

Thank you for the Example file. It will definitely help, but I am a bit overwhelmed here.

Can you help me with the light functions please? Since the lights are integrated with the buttons how do I get them to switch on or off as required?

Do we have to place each usable switch, button and control onto the “layer cake”? What about the button behaviour? e.g. a push button can move in different ways, up and down, in and out or seesaw. So do these have to be individually “cut” from the base layer (body of the device) and placed in the editor?

What about the different windows in the skin editor? Where do I paste the base layer i.e. the device body?

Firstly, I love your hi-fi skin designs. They are very nicely done.

I agree with you about the abundance of buttons, switches, etc. on the Dragon. Perhaps functionality can be assigned to some of the buttons while the others e.g. REC button can be left without a function. In comparison, the Tandberg is much less complicated.

I will have another look at the skin editor, but in spite of the English help, I really don’t know where to begin!

Hello new here!

I’m loving the tape deck skins so I was wondering if someone would be interested in designing skins for the:

1) Nakamichi Dragon and

2) Tandberg 3014

Cassette Decks (see attachments).

They are the two top cassette decks ever built.

I would love to do them myself but unfortunately there is no tutorial in English for the skin editor. It’s too complicated for me without a tutorial.

Help would be most valuable.

You probably have several requests and I don't know if you take requests but it would be wonderful if you could make a sklin design of a Mcintosh hi-fi system:
