I just noticed that AIMP was using 6% CPU in the background while being minimized to the tray and not being in use...

...what was it doing? Crypto currency mining?

I have AIMP as a portable executable on a USB harddrive. I plugged this harddrive into another laptop. That laptop gave the harddrive a different drive letter, so local files in AIMP came up empty. I quit AIMP and went into disk management to set the drive letter to what AIMP used to recognize. Next time I started AIMP, it automatically reimported all songs, but all play counts and ratings are erased. :'(

There's backups for the installation itself, but no backups for the database? It remembered playlists... this is the second time something major with my library has been screwed up in AIMP in a short time.

Is this possible?

I recently made a mistake which removed a lot of files from my playlists, and since I last tried to reconstruct them, I sort of lost track of which files I hadn't added to any playlists yet.

I thought maybe the information would be in the "Report" feature, something like a "Found in X playlists" so I could see which songs were in 0 of them perhaps...

Or even perhaps more manual, just the ability to search for a song and see which playlists they are in?

Just out of curiosity... since ASIO isn't exclusive... what happens during 192khz playback when the Windows PC decides to play a system sound, which I guess is 44.1khz? A technical question which has nothing to do with AIMP, I guess.

What does it mean that the input is 44.1khz? Does that mean that even if I play a 192khz file, it gets downsampled?

The damage has already been done for me now, but hopefully it can be fixed for users in the future. I'm re-adding all of the moved tracks to the playlists as we speak (going to take me a good few days, I guess).

I didn't discover it until it was too late, because all of the ratings were kept, so that's why I thought everything was all right.

I specifically used the built-in "send to" option because I wanted to move my files yet preserve my AIMP playlists.

Now that I'm done sorting my files, and I do a "remove missing" on a playlist, all moved files disappear.

What's the point of a built in move utility if it can't preserve the playlist?

I have a pair of headphones with well known peaks at 3k and 10k. AIMP's equalizer don't have fine enough control to accurately tame that.

Are there any developments planned to improve the equalizer? These days, there's quite advanced parametric equalizers available, but it would be nice if it also was built straight into AIMP...
