Gr-e it's working now, seems to get "stuck" sometimes and going back and forth between another station brings it up.  Must be web congestion.  I'm sorry for bothering you!!

I'm sorry to have to ask, but can you confirm that the script does NOT work on your end when using the latest AIMP 5.40.2674?  Unfortunately I didn't keep any backups, but I believe the problem began very close to the current version.  What version of AIMP are you using please?

Проверил, параметры вывода звука стояли одинаковые, проблема решилась другим банальным способом, а именно сбросом параметров устройств, видать глюк в системе)

This happens every time the OS has a major update (W10-W11 or W11-22H2 to 24H2), and the cure is the same--just reset the output device.  Also happens in Foobar2000, which adds defaulting the volume control to 100%--now THAT will wake you up!!

This message appears when I try to play .m4a files:

What could I do to play them?

Do you get the message for ALL .m4a files?  Be sure that Prefs/Plugins/Decoders/Advanced Audio Coding v2.4.6.1 is present and active/checked.

If not present, check that the folder bass_aac exists with bass_aac.dll in your plugins directory.  If they don't, add them (can be extracted with 7-Zip from the file

If it is, try un-checking Sound Output/Transform/Allow System Decoder Usage.

Сам по себе плеер стихи в теги не перезаписывает. Максимум что он может - сохранять найденный текст в интернете _рядом_ с аудиофайлом

For those who may be confused, Minilyrics is not a part of the aimp_webLyrics.ini file's functioning but has always depended on the current AIMP's ability to work with a separate Winamp-era plugin.  That is no longer possible without "spoofing" the AIMP version backwards by renaming the .exe file or using a hex editor on the Winamp plugin, if it's still do-able at all.

As Artem said, in any case it is not AIMP re-writing embedded lyrics.  It only writes external files.

Thanks for posting both the fixed "normal" and "api" versions;  I tested both and they are working perfectly.

I have attached the newest revision of my modified aimp_webLyrics.ini here, which contain the search scripts from several generous contributors that have been posted to the AIMP forum.  Genius has been replaced with the new gr-e revisions;  the fixed "normal" script is searched first, if that fails the search is made next on the "api" version.  This is to take some of the pressure off use of the Genius api that may result in IP bans, etc.

Searches within the aimp_webLyrics.ini file are done in the order the scripts are listed.  When a match is found, the search stops.  There is currently no way to ask that a search be continued past what was considered a match.  You can manually change the search order by using a text editor to cut/paste within the file.  Likewise you can completely remove a script.  The plugin works equally well with Internet Radio streams.

The attached modification also contains several album art sources designed to search for the cover displayed when Internet searching is activated.  I have given priority to the HQ covers from iTunes/Apple and have specified sizes up to 1200 X 1200 with no black borders added.  That size is indeed being commonly delivered.  To see any art in full size, single-click the small player body window or the one in Now Playing panel.  Be sure you have specified a sufficient "Maximum file size for download" in the player's "Additional Information" options.

If you run across any scripts needing a fix, or have written one for a new source, please do post here and I will be sure to add it to the *.ini attached to this post.

gr-e :  the Genius script has once again stopped producing lyrics;  would really appreciate it if you could do another revision for us!  The script used in MusicBee's "LyricsReloaded" plugin failed the same day.  The API-based "Beenius" searcher though is unstoppable.

I noticed this right after updating to AIMP 5.40.2667, so hopefully not a regression to that bad DLL issue Artem fixed.

Отличный был плагин. Жаль нет версии для 64-битной версии AIMP

AIMP 5.40.2655 64-bit, Win11

You can do it several ways now, no plugins needed.  Clicking once on the small album cover displayed on the player body's left side, or the Now Playing cover box, will open the image in the original size and format used to embed, and it can then be saved as an image file.  Likewise, File Info from the context menu, and right-clicking image in Tag Editor produces a "Save As" choice.

VBR 0 is the highest quality option for Variable Bitrate LAME MP3 encoding settings. https://wiki.hydrogenaud.io/index.php/LAME#VBR_(variable_bitrate)_settings

While it can't be directly selected in the AIMP 5.40.2655 x64 Portable's Audio Converter settings, choosing the highest average bitrate offered in the VBR settings (220-260kbps) will produce a conversion that has used the "V 0" setting, as shown in MediaInfo post-output transcript of what options AIMP actually used in a FLAC file conversion:

If you are actually getting CBR 320kbps files when selecting VBR, I don't know what to tell you, except to check that you haven't altered the stock converter files from their new formats, i.e. libLAME.dll not lame.exe.

OK, I just did some successful conversions from mp3 to qaac m4a, using AIMP 5.40.2655 x64 Portable.  My OS is Win 11 24H2 x64.  Here is what worked fine for me:

I chose to not install iTunes64.exe to avoid the bloat.  Instead I installed only the iTunes files needed by qaac64 to do the conversions--this by using the Foobar trick from the qaac developer that's been known for years that extracts the needed files directly from the iTunes64.exe setup file using the "makeportable2.cmd" file into a folder named QTfiles64.

After installing enc_qaac.aimppack, I moved the folder QTfiles64 into the enc_qaac Plugins folder with "qaac.exe."  Note that AIMP does not use "qaac64.exe" as the file name for the 64-bit version even though it is posted that way on GitHub by its developer.  A quick check with Nirsoft's "Sigcheck" confirmed aimppack delivered the correct version despite the name.

Then I went into the Audio Converter, chose aac M4A (qaac) and VBR-255, ran the conversion, and it completed extremely fast with no errors.

My guess is those having problems may be due to qaac.exe being unable to get a "hook" into a system install of iTunes (permissions?), or some problem with the file naming (qaac vs. qaac64).  BTW, I noticed that aimppack installed both the 64 and 32 bit versions of libsoxr and libsoxconvolver, only the 64-bit ones are needed if you are using 64-bit qaac.

So, "do what I did"  .  I posted a ready-to-go QTfiles64 folder (unzip into the qaac.exe plugins folder) for those reluctant to dig up makeportable2.cmd, etc:

AIMP x64 cannot operate with almost of available visualizations

A bunch of ancient Winamp colored bouncing lines?  Who cares!  Give me AIMP 64 any day.  The best visualization is a high-quality album cover, or the beautiful VUMeters from LVU 1.2.1 or the analog meter plugin with their hundreds of skins.  Not to mention sheer performance.  THANK YOU for x64 AIMP!

Доброго дня, Артём, поставил заново версию AIMP 5.4.2655 - 32-битный инсталлер.
Потом поставил enc_qaac.aimppack от 2024-08-12.
При конвертации FLAC-музыки выбираю пресет "AAC mp4 (QAAC)" с установкой "VBR ~320 kbps".
Получаю ошибку, скрин прилагаю.
Установлен iTunes 12.13.4.4 и AppleMusic.

Куда копать  ? Конвертация в MP3, OGG, OPUS проходит без проблем. Windows 11 x64 Home 22H2.

P.S. Раньше конвертировал без проблем, но потом перестало работать. Прочитал, что это связано с изменением структуры работы программы и в связи с переходом на плагины. Снёс под ноль старую версию и сделал новую инсталляцию.

Why are you using the 32-bit version of AIMP instead of the 64-bit if your Win11 is x64?

This confuses things because like Artem mentioned you are dealing with the OS, AIMP, qaac.exe, and iTunes, all of which should be using the same architecture (Machine type), preferably 64-bit. (BTW "bit depth" is an unrelated figure used in encoding audio).

1.  You have the 64-bit WIN 11 already.
2.  Install the 64-bit iTunes from here: https://www.apple.com/itunes/download/win64
3.  Install the 64-bit AIMP
4.  Install the qaac aimppack: https://www.aimp.ru/?do=catalog.download&id=1311

There will now be an entry in audio encoders that will allow you to encode to M4A via the qaac.exe encoder, normally viewed as the best AAC option.

I have no idea--I don't even use ASIO emulators, I have Realtek Audio HD ASIO drivers.  Just passing on some information that I hoped might help somebody.
