With "Allow Caching" in Prefs/Player/Additional Information NOT checked, caching is still performed when:

1.  A file is opened in ATE
2.  The album cover window is right-clicked and "Download from the Internet" (not "Find in..") is selected
3.  After a cover is downloaded, the "Write to File" box is checked, and ATE is exited.

Restarting AIMP shows content in the "Flush" button above the previous "3.00kb" default figure, despite Allow Caching not being checked.  Looking at the AlbumArts.Cache.db in File Explorer verifies the increase.

While then hitting "Flush" reduces the size to default, if "Allow Caching" is not checked, no caching should be happening in the first place.

When I started an update from AIMP Portable 64-bit 5.30.2563 using the update checker, I saw the download finish, and then the dialog just CEASED.  No indication that the install had started, no asking what folder to use, no indication the update had finished.  It was like nothing had happened at all, which is what I thought, but checking aimp.exe and "About" I saw that it had indeed been updated to 5.40.2651.  Is this new behavior from the update plugin?

Something needs to be re-added to let the user know the update has actually been started, and correctly finished, instead of just total silence.  That has never been the case before until now, and still leaves me wondering if everything actually was updated correctly.

Just curious as to if there is a particular problem that is proving hard to solve that is postponing the release of a 5.40.x PC Final. Never saw such a large gap between new versions before, especially when the Android version seems on-track.

In prefs I have Album Arts checked to "Find on Internet", no save, no cache.  I am listening to Internet radio streams.

ln 2549 and earlier this always produced the behavior of AIMP doing an Internet search for the cover and displaying the results from one of the sources in aimp_webLyrics.ini if found.  If the cover was not found, BUT the station itself was providing a "default/genre" cover (as is the case with SomaFM and also Radio Caprice), AIMP would display that cover.

In 2555, the behavior has changed so that if the stream itself is providing a "default/genre" cover, that cover receives display priority and no Internet search is performed from the aimp_webLyrics.ini file for a cover specific to that track.

Not sure if this was a deliberate change or a bug, but could this be changed back to the original behavior?  When a track/artist specific album cover can be found on the Internet for the streaming song, THAT is the cover I want to see, not one of the canned SomaFM or Radio Caprice "category covers."

Used Update Checker (like usual) to update 5.30.2549 to 5.30.2554;  files appeared to download and AIMP was restarted, but the version stayed at 2549 both in "About" and in aimp.exe.

The "!Backup" folder was created and some checked files were overwritten/replaced (aimp_webLyrics.ini) and restored (deleted lang files), but aimp.exe (although overwritten) was not replaced by 2554 version; file version still shows 2549 with a digital signature timestamp of May 2, 2024.  Unknown if other files failed to update as well.

Windows 11 23H2 x64.

AIMP 5.30.2526 RC x64 Portable, Charm skin, Windows 10 22H2.

On radio streams sending metadata searchable with aimp_webLyrics plugin, lyrics will appear, then disappear after about 10 seconds.  But they will return and stay in Info Box after station is double-clicked to restart it. Does not happen every time but often enough to be immediately noticeable after a number of stations.  Did not happen with 5.30.2524 RC x64 Portable.

This is may be the same bug described by LittleFox97 in [2510] https://www.aimp.ru/forum/index.php?topic=71417.0.  Example:

When the file name template for radio captures is set as:  %stationname%  %artist% - %title

And the station name is Radio Kamchatka Live Chillout, and artist/title of playing track is Luxxury/Take It Slow

The resulting file name of capture is:  Unknown  Luxxury - Take it Slow.aac

This is the same for ALL streams--%stationname% is always shown as "Unknown."

Note:  edited for an initial error!

Both the "Open With.." and "Track Info to any" plugins have their preferences windows truncated at the end so the settings cannot be added, as in example below.

When a playing title has a length exceeding the display interface in either the Information Box "Now Playing" or the main player body, title will continue to cycle back and forth even with movement disabled in Prefs/Interface/Displaying Data:

Generated a new Charm skin from SE 1258 with font changes to static data lines on main player body, and AIMP 2505 will not load the skin.  Is it because the Charm version supplied from the editor (1.36) is not new enough (built-in Charm is 1.39) for the 2505 interface?  Will there be an updated version of SE coming?  The 5.11.2432 AIMP does load the mod Charm.

Using the Charm classic skin and separate windows for main player, info box, playlist, visualizations, none of the windows will stick or "magnetize" to each other on their window edges so they can be moved together, as was possible in previous versions.  The option to "Snap windows to screen edges and other AIMP's windows" is checked.

The app continues to produce an error report on every exit as reported previously which just may be a duplicate of the one I submitted in previous post.

After making various changes in Sound Effects immediately after new Portable install with Charm skin, AIMP produces bug report (attached, with AIMP.ini) upon every subsequent exit.
