The album art shows in a low quality. It was very noticeable when I loaded Moe Shop (w MYLK) - Magic. There were jagged lines. I also tried it with some other songs and album arts, it was also lower quality than the original pictures I have. The issue seems to be the same with jpg and png files too.

AIMP on android calculates bitrate wrong. the bitrate increases when i add cover art

after some quick testing, it seems AIMP is already doing what i want it to do

but it should've been clear what the setting means. there should be four options in replaygain source: none, album, track, album/track

none - no source, only replaygain preamp
album - only album value
track - only track value
album/track - use album value if available. if not, use track value

something like this

i have replaygain values for both track and album on my songs. I want AIMP to use the album value if there is album value, and use track value if there is no album value. currently it can select only one, and it is pretty jarring when i finish listening to an album, and then i listen to a single and it is suddenly loud.

1. AIMP for Android used to have 29 bands in the EQ but since v3.20, it was changed to 20 bands to be the same like on Windows. Its really a shame because the Windows version should have been upgraded instead. May we please have the 1/3rd octave bands again? And to use frequencies from ISO 266 https://cdn.standards.iteh.ai/samples/1350/dee3c3da72b444efae95d47dbe35d8fb/ISO-266-1997.pdf, namely: 20, 25, 31.5, 40, 50, 63, 80, 100, 125, 160, 200, 250, 315, 400, 500, 630, 800, 1000, 1250, 1600, 2000, 2500, 3150, 4000, 5000, 6300, 8000, 10000, 12500, 16000, 20000 in Hz

2. Since AIMP uses FFT-based equalizer, the number of points should be the same on Windows as on Android. Right now, Android version uses 2048 points, and Windows version uses 8192 points. They should be the same by default, and allow users to change the accuracy of the EQ in their settings.

3. Lastly, an option to export and import EQs between Android and Windows. It is pretty tedious to copy all the dB values by hand

It is pretty similar to the previous one, not much difference

Measurements taken after ~30s. Please ignore the falloff above 20KHz, my ASIO driver is not doing a good job..

Speaking of spikes, i tested how a spiky EQ sounds. It seems like the new version just smooths the low frequencies more than before.

I understand that because the block size of the FFT-based EQ is 2048 points, the EQ cannot make all the low frequencies accurate. But it seems like the new version has even lesser points. Is this true or is it just smoothing the low frequencies more?

All measurements were taken after 60 seconds using a timer

Its better than before. The EQ is a lot more predictable at -15dB. Still not flat, but it doesn't have the spikes anymore

I am wondering how AIMP calculates the ReplayGain for audio files. Does it use ReplayGain 1.0 specifications as given in https://wiki.hydrogenaud.io/index.php?title=ReplayGain_1.0_specification or the unofficial ReplayGain 2.0 specifications as given in https://wiki.hydrogenaud.io/index.php?title=ReplayGain_2.0_specification?

And how long is the release time on peak normalization?

And will AIMP (both PC and Android) support the track peak values? Because sometimes the ReplayGain can cause it to go over 0dB and cause clipping

Well, the measurements were taken after recording the white noise for some time. i took the screenshot after about 20 seconds. If i waited 20 minutes or hours it will be a straight line. In the 60s graph here, it shows a tolerance of about +-0.5dB

I attached my phone to my PC and analyzed the frequency response of the EQ using white noise. As expected, the white noise is flat when the EQ is at 0dB. But when I put it at +15dB and -15dB, the white noise is not flat anymore. What is happening with the EQ?

i am currently writing code to export impulse wav files as AIMP eqs, and i wanted to know some things about the EQ

What is the block size of the EQ?
Does the EQ use FIR (linear-phase) or IIR filters?
Why does the EQ not sound flat when i put it all at -15dB or +15dB?

And if you allow, what code library is used for the EQ?
