Title: [x] [1199] lost own and created EQ settings
Post by: Rfx9123 on September 24, 2022, 17:57:06
Too bad, even in the latest beta versions of AIMP for Android 3.30, the program can't even remember most of its own EQ settings. Actually at least every 3rd restart of the app I have to try to restore from the created backup. This problem with the EQ settings has existed since AIMP for Android 3.2x.
Device: iBasso DX160, Android 8.1, last firmware fom August 2022, not rooted

Explain your actions in more details? I cannot reproduce it on my side.

Here are 4 photos showing the problem correctly and incorrectly:

Refer to the "About" dialog of the app, and check the "enable logging" option. Now, reproduce an issue and send the log file to me.

I think I found the problem myself. Since my device isn't a phone, I didn't activate the "Access to the phone" item, assuming it is only necessary for incoming and outgoing calls and the interaction with AIMP that is necessary with it. After my post I went through all the settings again and activated this item. In addition, the log creation started.
But I remember under AIMP 3.2x this activation had no effect because I had already tried it once in the beginning. That's why she hasn't been active until now. But I'll keep testing, the program is still in beta status and I'll get back to you if I have any further discrepancies. Thanks for your patience anyway.

??? In the last few days I have tested AIMP for Android (aimp_3.30.1220_Beta_2) several times. Once again there was the problem of lost EQ settings. Immediately after noticing the error, I started logging to record the current status (Debug_fail.log). I then restored the desired status using a backup and also documented this in the log (Debug.log). I still have a guess. If I turn on logging, exit AIMP and then turn off the device completely, as always, then when the device is restarted later, including AIMP, all EQ are available as desired. In my case, I then disabled logging before exiting AIMP for comparison. Hence the note.

It seems logs does not contains any interest information.
I have added more logging to the app:

Thanks. I will test the version. Is it better to always leave logging enabled, or only enable it when the error has occurred? How big could such a log file get? It may also be sufficient to start logging shortly before exiting AIMP.

Leave logging enabled. AIMP is not so verbose in logs

A short feedback after more than a week of intensive testing. Since installing "aimp_3.30.1222_Beta_2_internal (2022.10.09 14-33)", whether with or without logging enabled, all EQ settings have been preserved even when switching the output path, headphones, coaxial or BT speakers. Hopefully that will fix this problem. Thanks.

This just happened to me as well. Second time it has happened.

Version 3.22 Build 1199

Steps to reproduce.

I disabled equaliser and set a default one. This lasted for around a day.

Reverted back to automatic switching and all of them were lost. I had made around 1100.

Logging was not enabled. Just discovered there is a logging thing.

It seems I have found a root of issue. It is numeric overflow if number of presets more than 128.

Oh. Cool. Thanks. I was worried about repeating the same process again only to lose them again. Make it go as far as it can go. Every song in my playlist has its own Equaliser and it's approaching 2k songs.

Thanks for the app.

I have fixed this issue in v3.30:

Across the last few releases I've updated to version 3.30.1240 this week. I no longer observed the problem with the lost EQ settings. What bothers me a bit, AIMP sporadically messes up my sorting of the playlist link and at the same time disables random playback. Here is a picture of what my chosen sorting looks like and the second picture with the unwanted sorting. In addition, the empty entry "Default" appears again, which I had deleted in my sorting for the sake of clarity. Can these problems still be solved? Thank you in advance.
