Title: Bookmark behavior changed in latest versions, is there a way to go back?
Post by: makinoatorie on April 29, 2022, 20:54:21
Hey, I've been using AIMP for a while and didn't update for a year or so, so when I changed PC and installed it again, I noticed the bookmark behaviour changed. I used to press the little star (in the Bliss 4k skin) and a list of all my bookmarks will appear, then I'd select the song and it will play in the same playlist.

In the latest version (english build), there's no list, just "add" and "edit" buttons, and when I use the music library to select my bookmarks, it creates an entirely new playlist instead of playing it from the current one, its kind of annoying since I like to put all my music in one playlist and let it shuffle, but sometimes I want to hear a certain song.

Is there a way to go to the previous behavior? I can't find anything in the settings.
Thank you very much.

No. All bookmarks has been moved to music library. Only the Music Library provides custom tags, grouping, sorting and other features

Oh, a shame, I'll downgrade then and won't update anymore.
Thank you very much.

Ok. It is your choice. I have no idea, who it possible to operate with thousand of bookmarks in context menu...

Well, as I said, I sometimes like to put a certain song from my bookmarks but let it go by itself after that for the rest of my non bookmarked music. in the new version it opens it in a new tab so I have to manually go back to my original playlist each time, or it will just go through the bookmarks tab. I do that often.

I'm past that time when I expect software to adapt exactly to my use case, so I asked if there's some setting that can do that, but it isn't, so that's why I decided to go back to older versions. No problem.
Thanks!
