Haven't updated aimp in a while and just ran into this.

It's because aimp started to pack the installer with yandex adware. I would definitely avoid this software from now on, considering current political situation and how yandex could cooperate with russian government.

P.S. Yandex "Adware" was introduced in our installer in many-many years ago. Its not a new thing

What do you mean proof? How could i have proof of pro-government data collection, am i a James Bond? :D
This is a simply an open link connecting Yandex servers to your computer and it is a security risk, especially after it already had to comply with the government before

But you are talking about it... I think you know that Facebook, Google, Microsoft and many other big companies collect and sale your data, right? Anyway, Yandex offers is displayed and installed (if user agree with it, of course) ONLY FOR RUSSIAN USERS.  I have no idea (no, I have) why Eset untrust Yandex offers (that does not affects for EU / USA users), but trust to Google offers.

So, what I want to say... AIMP was banned because it russian software that advertises another russian software. This is today trend, it's a difficult time... You may not trust to my words and you may switch to another player, but I have always tried to be clear with users.
