Title: Hi-Res support
Post by: aj.fleet on November 10, 2021, 20:24:54
Hi, I'm new to AIMP and the forum. I'm looking at AIMP as an alternative to JRiver Media Centre, which I'm finding cumbersome and difficult to use. So far, I'm very impressed with AIMP. My question is to do with Hi-Res file support. My music library is a mix of ripped CD's at 44.1K FLAC and Hi-Res WMA files at 88.2K. I use a DAC (Fiio K3 + ASIO driver) that has a light that changes colour for these different file types indicating the two file types. In JRiver, this happens automatically. In AIMP, the light stays blue, indicating that the Hi-Res files are not running at 88.2K. I've noticed in the AIMP settings you can select the output you want, which works if I manually change it for the two file types. So in AIMP, should I set this to 88.2K all the time as this is the highest rate I will use? If so, this is sort of "up-scaling" my FLAC files to 88.2K I assume. Is this correct or should AIMP be switching the output accordingly?

Use 88.2 kHz for all files
