Title: [Feature Request] Single Library, No Playlist mode
Post by: acetken on October 13, 2021, 19:28:36
The new version is great, but it still doesn't quite do everything as far as how I manage my music. I know I'm a weird edge-case.

I manually sort music, edit & render it using Reaper, tag it manually, and store it in a single directory. I don't use album art. It's extremely easy to navigate.
I have AIMP scrub the directory for new files upon startup.
I don't use multiple playlists.

I can finally hide the playlist (as it was just a duplicated list of my library anyway and served no purpose), which is great.

Requested changes:
- I can still see the grouping area and can't find a way to remove it. It serves no purpose to me.
- The main library doesn't follow what song is being played. It does in the playlist only, but I do not use playlists.
- There is no way to remove album art from trying to show in the top of the skin or the taskbar mouse-over player. If the area must stay, it would be cool show an image I save to display in the area, or a small visualizer or something. At present, it is wasted space.

1. You cannot remove grouping tree, because it root of navigation on your library.
2. Because library does not play music, it just a file browser.
3. Explain, please. I does not understand what album art you are talking about.

Thank you for your reply! The numbers correspond to my attached image and your questions.

1. I know that there is no way to hide grouping, but I don't think I have ever interacted with it. It doesn't serve a purpose for me and it would be nice if it could be hidden. At the moment, it is just clutter if you sort to a single folder.
2. I know that the library is just a file browser, but it serves essentially the same purpose as a playlist. It's a list of music to play. It would be nice if we could operate it as such. It is just duplicate information if you sort to a single folder.
3. The Album Art is just a blank .jpg because none of my files have album art. I don't intend to use it. It would be nice to use the space for a visualizer or something.

1. Next again, you cannot remove grouping tree, because it root of navigation on your library. Not all data providers has "show all" option.
3. Ok

I am a normal noob user. So this might not help you:
Did you try to save your image with the title "front.jpg" in your one and only music folder?

That would probably work. I was kind of hoping to use the space for an visualization or something, I'm not sure why I said an image... my bad!
