Title: Add different albums at once in a single new created playlist for each album?
Post by: Biff on September 13, 2020, 09:17:48
How could one add different albums (without playlists) by marking the folders in a file manager and dragging and dropping them over Aimp so that Aimp adds each album to a different new playlist (not all of the albums in a single playlist)?

This?

One obviously cannot determine the place one wants to have them, they are always added to the end here.

And the playlists get other names than adding them over the playlist tabs.

As far as the order issue, you can click and drag them up or down the list once dropped in there.

Yes, thank you.

The other day I dropped some albums over the playlist tabs or between them or so (do not remember anymore that good) and the albums were added (without me wanting it) to single playlists each one. So there seems to be a way to do it like that, but I cannot find it anymore.

This is a very dangerous option:

I would not suppose (when using the playlist manager) that one removes the albums / files (physically) from the drive when one just wants to remove (by marking the playlists and press DEL) the playlists. Thank goodness the function does not work.

That scared me too when I first noticed it, but I made a test playlist and populated it with some duplicate files, and went through with the process.  I can verify that the only file that gets deleted is indeed the *.aimppl4 playlist file itself, and that just goes to the Recycle Bin.  The actual music files are not touched.

Ah, so it was my fault. Of course this refers to the (3) playlists (Aimp created and saved automatically - I was not aware of that in that moment) only and they even are listed in the message. So for clueless people like me it might be better if there was referred to "playlists" instaed of "files" in that message. But I didn't even read the message the fist time...

Many thanks for testing!
