It there is no entry in the tag fields

it seems Aimp uses a file name to search for a cover:

Could Aimp use instead the name of the folder to search for one?

Biff,
Hello!
I think that's not possible since, some people use the format [Artist] - [Album], while some others use [Album name] - [Artist name] for folder names.
Some people even add the year of the album, while some others add:
Others use:
or
Then, in the case of multiple CD albums, audio files could be saved in folders like:
For the time being, try and don't be so lazy, and don't ask for a piece of software to do everything (and everything good) always for you. ;)
I prefer to fill all fields and insert a high quality cover art manually. Just do it once, save it in a safe place and then enjoy! :D

Hello ᏦᏁᎢᎵᏫ,
Some people even add the year of the album, while some others add:
FLAC
MP3
Others use:
Art
Audio
or
Art
Music

CD1
CD2
CD3
etc
Yes, that is right, but the search might be able to distinguish between the interpret, album title etc. and information like about the format, e.g. flac, mp3 and many more. Respectively it would not search for such information (because such words could be excluded from the search).
Yes, yes, but I would like very much such a piece of software which did everything for me (and the best) I want.

If the download from the Internet with Aimp does not work I do it with the Catalogs menu (Google or Yandex) in Aimp.

Unfortunately, it's not that easy. For instance, check the album titles from Weezer (https://www.discogs.com/es/artist/105730-Weezer). Then, these (https://www.discogs.com/es/The-1975-EP/release/9448475) three (https://www.discogs.com/es/The-1975-102/release/12977643) cases (https://www.discogs.com/es/The-1975-The-1975/release/14033814) from the band The 1975 will be hard to "understand" for any search engine as well. What about the duo Greatest Hits (https://www.discogs.com/es/artist/1915986-Greatest-Hits), or the band The Very Best (https://www.discogs.com/es/artist/1274639-The-Very-Best), or the proyects like The The (https://www.discogs.com/es/artist/23368-The-The) and Unknown Artist (https://www.discogs.com/es/artist/1145345-Unknown-Artist-3)?
There's plenty of more and more examples. :o

Yes, yes, not so easy, indeed. But doable, I could imagine. But I do not have any idea of anything / coding, may be I am totally wrong. And may be or really there will be some interprets, album titles which absolutely cannot be found (correctly), may be 1 % or more or less. Those ones would have to be found manually.

No, you are not wrong. However, current pieces of software have technical limitations. For instance, most search engines can't deal with symbols, just letters and numbers. So, an album title like this one (https://www.discogs.com/es/Bersuit-Vergarabat-/release/7434736) could be impossible to find if you have no idea of the artist name. ???

Yes, I believe you, some (I assume, very less) albums just cannot be find.
