Title: Missing songs in music library
Post by: draco on August 01, 2020, 20:36:54
Hi there,

I'm new to AIMP and i already fallen in love with this amazing player. There is one thing that seems confusing. After it has scanned my directory M:/ for musical files it seems to skip some. SOME of them are in M:/Artist/Album/ (all others are in M:/Artist - album/). I have tried purging the database and re-started the process of adding them. I have double checked the information of the musical files with the tag editor and that goes fine.

So my question is, what am I missing here? Is there a limit to the recursive search for files? I can manually add them to a playlist and play them so there is no issue with the file itself or the accessibility to it. They are just missing from the music library.

Ill reply to my own question, in case someone else has the same issue.

After having dug deep into the .ini files and changed all kinds of configuration back and forward i found no solution.

BUT... the workaround i found was to manually add all the directories, in files monitoring, that AIMP did not index. It meant a bit of work but now the songs and albums are in there. Interestingly enough, now that they are in the library, i can remove them from the "Files monitoring" setting and they are still in the music library.

I had same issue, I found out that some folders have system file attribute so i cleared the attribute with this command and it fixed it for me.
attrib -s 'path_to_folder'
