Title: Is replay gain just for placebo effect?
Post by: nr98302 on April 05, 2020, 16:33:00
I just scanned a whole album and applied replay gain to it but the difference between two particular tracks still seemed as large as before.

So I set the track replay gain for one of them to something a lot lower. Still sounds the same.

So I set it to -270 dB. Surely, I would notice a difference then. Still sounds the same.

I even double-checked it with foobar2000, just in case maybe AIMP doesn't refresh replay gains immediately after editing them or something. Nope, it's all the same there too.

Does replay gain normalization is switched on in app settings?
