Title: Auto fill Playlist like Auto-DJ feature in MusicBee ?
Post by: Captain Nemo on April 01, 2020, 10:08:26
Hello,

I want to switch on AIMP and i'm looking for a feature that i use on MusicBee.
On MusicBee, it's possible to auto-fill the actual queue with some criteria/filter... and new tracks are automatically added when previous tracks are played.
In resume : It's possible to automatically add album after album, without any user action

Can AIMP do this ? Natively or with a plugin ?
Thanks for your answer !

You are looking for Smart Playlist.
Right mouse click on playlist tabs

Thanks but it's not the same feature.
I made a Smart Playlist, with for example 5 tracks.
When the fifth track is over, playlist wasn't refill with new tracks

Not the same but almost the same.
I think main feature is "autofill" for you? The difference is that AIMP immediately fills the playlist (and doesn't add tracks of suitable criteria at the end).
What prevents you from choosing a criteria and listening to whole playlist?

What prevent ? The need of "choosing a criteria", the need to interact with software :)

For example, if i want to listen an album (without specific criteria), i would have liked the player to add automatically (et randomly) a new album at the end
Of course, if i specify a criteria (like "genre : rock"), first album added in the queue respect the criteria, following albums added respect the criteria too.
But the player make the choice. No action from me.

In resume, playlist (or player queue) is perpetually updated with new entries. Music player is running in background and make its life

Or I don't understand you, or you me. Right now in AIMP you can listen albums according to criteria (e.g. "Genre") in background (almost infinite until your rock albums run out), without any interaction with software

I just tied this: New smart playlist - Preimage: folders, using the option "Monitor for changes while tunning" (perhaps you have this one disabled?), I had just 2 files in that folder, started playing the playlist, switched to second song, added 3 other files in the file manager, these have been added in AIMP in few seconds and played after the current file.
