Title: [+] AIMP 4.60 #2161 crashing when starting to play music
Post by: der_RAV3N on December 06, 2019, 15:47:36
Hey,

I started up AIMP today again after a few months and it instantly crashed. I didn't really test much, just reinstalled, including deleting my preferences. Now AIMP will start and work, but just until I start to play music. It hangs for 1-2 seconds and then just closes down. I also sometimes hear a sound for very very short time, but yea..

I'm using W10 1903, if that's important. Any ideas? Is there any log file that are being created?

Greetings,
RAV3N

Hello.

For what it's worth, in case this helps someone -

In short, I had to upgrade my Realtek audio drivers.  Removing Sonic Studio didn't fix it.

In longer:

I had the same issue with AIMP.  Uninstalling Sonic Studio (and "Sonic Radar") didn't fix this issue.

I checked my motherboard support website and there was a newer version of the Realtek audio driver (v6.0.8751.1).  The changelog for the driver says "Fixes an issue that sometimes prevents MP3 playback."

I installed that and now I can use AIMP without issue.

Cheers
