My PC crashed, leading me to buy a new laptop on which I installed AIMP. Before on my PC, I could play songs from playlists without any pause between them. Now, on my laptop there is a pause of 3-10 seconds between songs. This happens irrespective of the DSP Manager Mixing Option settings. Any suggestions?

Just to add a little more info, my laptop (like the PC before it) is using an external hard drive to play music through AIMP. When I recovered my playlists from my PC, I moved them to the external hard drive instead of the C: drive. Could this be the root of the problem?

The laptop itself is a good one (Lenovo Flex 15 series), so I don't think it is the problem. I am running Windows 10 on it, but was using Windows 7 on my PC.

Maybe hdd goes to sleep because of power saving settings? Check it.
You can try to set Cache size to 0 and enable Pre-load next track (4.60) in AIMP's Playback options.

Thanks very much for your reply. Hard drive sleep settings appeared normal. I uninstalled the old version (4.51) and installed the newer 4.60 as you suggested, enabling Pre-load next track, and that helps, but it still isn't a totally seamless transition between tracks that segue one into another. Would you explain please how to adjust the cache to 0 since I've never done that?

Thanks! Looks like mine was already set at 0.
