Title: [Solved] AIMP Crashing with Amanero Drivers
Post by: bestmage13 on June 09, 2019, 16:29:08
Hi,

So I have a DAC/Amp, the NFB-11.28, that uses Amanero drivers. There were no problems with AIMP when I first set up my DAC/Amp, but since a year or two ago, it just constantly crashes. This started after a Windows 10 update, and it seems that AIMP no longer works with Amanero drivers. The version of AIMP I have installed is the latest stable one, v4.51 Build 2084 (01.12.2018). I've tried to see what exactly triggers it, and here's what I found out. AIMP crashes when

1. Monitor is the Windows default for playback, change the system volume.
2. DAC/Amp is the Windows defaultfor playback, AIMP's source is left as is.

I even tried installing older versions of AIMP just in case it was the problem, but it still crashes regardless. And I even reinstalled the Amanero drivers in case something was corrupt, but no luck there either. The OS I'm using as I mentioned before is Windows 10. Not sure if any other info is needed.

Check if the Sonic Studio software installed on your PC?

Wow, that actually solved it. I didn't even know what you were talking about until I looked it up. So it seems I didn't in fact provide all the relevant information, sorry. I switched from a laptop to a PC that I built using an ASUS motherboard. It never occurred to me that the problem started either when I switched to my PC or updated ASUS drivers.

Thank you.
