Title: Retain playlist entry selection on song jump
Post by: Octopuss on August 27, 2018, 13:05:14
Confusing title, let me try to explain in a human way.
Let's say I click/highlight/whatever a specific song in the playlist, with the intention to play that song manually (and quickly by simply hitting Enter, without having to search) later on.
The problem is that when the player automatically jumps to next track (I'm talking shuffle mode here to be clear), the selection is changed to the new song, making this impossible.
Would it be possible to change this behaviour (possibly as an optional setting)? I can see the player already highlights the currently playing song in a slightly different colour, so it looks like the functionality could be there.

P.S. This is pretty much how it works in Winamp, which I believe is really user friendly way.

I'd also appreciate this being implemented, basically an option for the playlist to not scroll to anything automatically.

Quote from: Help / F.A.Q. / Playlist / Playlist does not jump to playable file automatically
Automatic jumping works only if AIMP application is non-active (running in background and mouse pointer is out from window).

In fact, the situation is as follows:

Automatic jumping works only if AIMP application is running in background or mouse pointer is out from playlist area.

That is, to prevent automatic jumping, you need AIMP window to be active and mouse pointer to be over playlist area.

There is also a topic with the suggestion and voting to add an option to customize this behavior:
