Hi, Can somebody tell me how to install two instances of Aimp in order to be able to switch from one to the other when I DJ ? I'm on Windows 10. Thank you in advance.

maybe try 2 portable versions, or 1 portable and 1 normal version.
-
Hmmm... Good idea. I'll try it! Thank you.

Hi, It's me, still...
I installed a portable version and a regular one and if I boot the portable one, the regular won't open. If I boot the regular first, the portable will prompt that I need to close the open instance in order to be allowed to open the portable one...

You can use command line switch " /debug" in both file shortcuts:

You need to make a SHORTCUT first to the aimp.exe (right-click and "create shortcut") in the portable (stand alone) folder, then right-click that shortcut and choose Properties, and you'll see the same field for target as in Zhenya's image--then add " /debug". You would launch from the shortcut then.

im going to try and do this today, good luck to me please help me if i get stuck.
im doing a whole mock radio set up like an old pirate studio. and im trying to stack a couple of tape decks. thanks again aimp lovers ive got a feeling
il be getting a ''the specific file path doesnt exist'' or somethin like that like yesterday but il crack on, i did get it working a couple of years ago
i got 2 technics 12'10's working together and mixed between them both but forgot how
:) i have newest versions of standalone and pc version with windows 10. cheers

at the moment im getting a box pop up saying ''The name C:\Users\*****\Downloads\aimp_4.60.2167_no-instaler\AIMP\AIMP.exe/debug
specified in the target box is not valid. Make sure the path and filename are correct.
so i created the shortcut like you said and added /debug and press apply? ive tryed "/debug" and /debug it seems like i have a target conflict
i have my standalone in the downloads folder does that matter?

Is there a reason you didn't start with AIMP 4.70 build 2233--did you already have the older one installed?
I notice you used the "no installer" version of the one you have. The best way to do a portable install is to download the REGULAR installer version of AIMP, and when you start the install, it will then ask you if you want to choose a "Portable" install--select that, then point it at a folder outside the Windows user hierarchy, like "C:\AIMP." Don't put it in your Downloads folder, where you can run into all kinds of Windows permissions issues.
As far as the/debug part, do it like in Zhenya's picture only in a shortcut made from where AIMP.exe ends up. That's about all I can say, as I don't use that paramenter myself, I have a single portable installation.
