Hi,
I'm trying to play some midi file downloaded from here http://www.angelfire.com/fl/herky/sounds.html but without results.
Should I activate some options?

Hi,
I too couldn't play MIDI files in AIMP player. When I attempt it I hear nothing. Could you explain it to me in English, because I couldn't understand the previous post.

Decat24: you need to have a soundfont file installed first to play MIDI; the soundfont file contains the library of sounds/timbres used to reproduce the music in the midi audio. In AIMP, go to Preferences/Plugins/Decoders/MIDI, and click the little "wrench" image to the right of the entry; then in the MIDI settings window, browse with the "..." button to point the plugin to wherever you have placed the soundfont file:

I have attached (un-zip it) a small basic soundfont file you can try, but you can find much more sophisticated and complete soundfonts by just googling "free soundfont files." Some good ones are "GeneralUser GS MuseScore", "OmegaGMGS2", and "Timbres of Heaven."

Is it possible to select a different midi output device instead of the integrated one?
-
yes, refer to first page in settings dialog
-
Hmmm ... there I could only find the sound output (Soundcard, Directsound, Wasapi and so on), but not an option whatr to use to playback MIDI files (Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth, VirtualMIDISynth, Fluidsynth, ...)

Oh, I understand what are you talking about. No, AIMP can output the PCM signal only

ok, thanks for the reply.
