i have searched in the forum about aimp4 and bit perfect , i found a topic but as soon as i clicked on it i got

i have in the playback wasapi :windows default and exclusive event and push
may i know which settings should i use to have a bit perfect playback?
i run aimp mostly under w10 sometime under w7

Hello drugo. To cinfigure it to bit-match working You need to choose output method to WASAPI exclusive doesn't matter (event) or (push). Also set volume 100% and disable dithering in AIMP settings. Than You achieve bit-perfect. You also can put 24(32) bit output mode for 16 bit CD rips no problem.

For bit-perfect, might also be appropriate to change resample parameters in playback options to match sample rate of input files. Artem has indicated that in this case the SOX resampler is bypassed completely.

but there 2 sample rate , the audio card sample rate settings and the audio sample rate , and aimp doesn't include sox resampler or?

Hi Drugo,
AIMP does include the SOX resampler (libsoxr.dll); it uses it to resample the incoming rate to whatever you set in Playback Options/Parameters. If the incoming sample rate matches the rate you set there, the SOX is bypassed. This behavior is inherent in AIMP, even when using WASAPI Exclusive.
Your audio device (card) has an accepted list of sample rates. As long as one of those rates matches whatever you have AIMP set to, it will accept the audio via WASAPI Exclusive.
Best bet is to set AIMP's resample rate to match whatever the majority of your file/stream sample rates already are if you want to bypass the built-in resampling. Not that SOX resampling is a BAD thing, but it adds another step in the output path if your concern is the minimum amount of steps. It is used by AIMP in order to enable the use of effects like cross-fades, etc. that would otherwise not be possible between files of different sample rates.

Hi. Only Aimp internal volume control must be 100%. Check the Windows mixer. Aimp volume control in Windos mixer must not affected to volume if You configure Aimp right. But main Windows volume regulator may affect analog output of soundboard depend on soundboard You have. But it not degrade sound quality/bit exact.

Test is simple - I play HDCD coded audio and see indication on my DAC. Old version is okay, newer not. Onboard Realtek connected to HDCD DAC by optic toslink. Индикатор HDCD загорается на долю секунды и гаснет с новой версией. Так что где-то косяк. И сделайте уже опцию отключения уведомлений о новых версиях перманентной. Это реально достает. Обновиться только ради того чтоб не видеть это уведомление и обнаружить что что-то не так работает.

Я менял звуковой движок последний раз в версии 3.60! Как такое может быть, что последнее обновление у вас сломало звук, если движок не менялся?! Прекратите писать чушь! Ни одна железная коробка не может определить, bit-perfect звук или нет, если она не имеет доступа к оригиналу! Неужели это неочевидно?!

Пробовал отключить все что можно dither, resampling, fade effects - не получается получить оригинальный звук. На слух тупо слышно, не нужно даже побитово сравнивать. Только foobar asio нормально работает и переключает битрейт автоматически на ЦАП-е под битрейт в треке.
ЦАП - Dacmagic Plus c последними дровами. Я понимаю что старое устройство, но foobar же как-то делает?
Никак не мог подумать что в 2023 году будет актуальна проблема найти bit perfect player :o Я 10 лет как на Mac на котором тоже все печально, приходиться отдельную коробочку с виндой для музыки иметь ::)
