Title: AIMP can't play Audio Discs (.cda audio)?
Post by: paradonym on January 21, 2016, 22:22:14
using AIMP v4.00 build 1687 (18.01.2016) I can't open Audio from Compact Discs.
Audio Disc is completely new and accurate (Exact Audio Copy Digitalization compared to >100 checksum-sets in a database)...
AIMP offered CD playback in the autoplay menu - so I thought of course aimp can play audio discs...
But neither opening the .cda files directly nor dragging the Drive-Icon into AIMP playlist nor manually opening the files via menu -> open folder/files in AIMP let it play the audio disc...
I double checked "Exact audio copy" isn't running (because it locks every CD drive to be the only program able to access the files) - so AIMP could read the files as VLC can do it...

AIMP audio converter aso recognizes the disc as usual...

Does AIMP show any .cda files in file dialog? Make sure that CDDA Decoder plugin is loaded into AIMP

Does AIMP show any .cda files in file dialog? Make sure that CDDA Decoder plugin is loaded into AIMP

cda files aren't shown in the play list if being dragged into it or opened. .CDA is shown in the file types dialog of AIMP settings

there's an aimp_cdda.dll and aimp_cdda_basscd.dll inside C:\Program Files (x86)\AIMP\Plugins\aimp_cdda.
In settings -> System -> "file types" (AIMP is in german language, freely translated it) - there is .CDA shown...
How can I check whether the .dll's are loaded when AIMP is running?

There's no entry starting with a C in this list... Can I manually tell Pidgin to use the DLLs I found in the decoder folder? Or should I try a clean reinstall?

Solved:
Clean reinstall using Revo Uninstaller to clean leftover links and %AppData% and registry keys.
Probably the CDA Problem was caused by the update routine from AIMP3 to the new v4.
