Title: no another sounds when player plays via WASAPI Exclusive
Post by: stelistcristi on September 09, 2012, 01:22:21
Hi!

The sound from "Flash plug-in content" (in browsers) suddenly disappears if AIMP is opened and use "WASAPI Exclusive".
In Firefox this bug is available in active session: after restart of the browser everything works again (but AIMP must be closed).
In Chrome, this is available in active tab: after refreshing of the tab everything works again (but AIMP must be closed).

Thanks in advance!

Best Regards,
Cristian Silaghi

Hm, Its normal behavior. WASAPI Exclusive (such as ASIO) interface provide an exclusive access mode to device. So, another sound sessions will be disabled.

If you stop the playback in Aimp, the other apps still don't have back the sound? You really have to close Aimp to fix this issue?

I also have a question. I didn't update to Beta before i can find out some information about Wasapi in Exclusive mode in Aimp3. I have a Sound Blaster X-Fi with an Logitech X-530 5.1 system. With the stable Aimp3 i have sound on all 6 channels with Wasapi and 2 channel music. With Wassapi Exclusive mode i'm gonna still have sound on all 6 channels? I'm asking this because i recently installed Wasapi Exclusive Mode component on Foobar and with the 2 channel music i have sound only on Front L R Center and Subwoofer. With the 6 channel music i have sound on all 6 channels. Thanks!

There's no need to close AIMP. You can stop the playback or change the output mode to WASAPI or DirectSound. But the plugin wrapper (Opera) must be restarted in order to get sound again.

I can suggest you to wait next build of AIMP 3.20, because we have found a bug with detection of supported formats

I'm still using the latest stable release. I'm waiting for the stable release. Thank you for the reply!
