Title: [?] [3031] [LINUX] AIMP freezes while trying to open an audio file
Post by: mirw3b on January 21, 2026, 19:24:41: Since few versions of aimp6, on linux, it just freezes. i used to just have to restart aimp after force-closing it, but now i just can't use it at all.
If i try to open an audio file, it stays on "Opening..." and doesn't play the audio file. And if i try to play the audio file again, then aimp just freezes.
I did try to fully uninstall aimp (and deleted all the folders and files of aimp, even in /opt/AIMP and in ~/.config/AIMP) but after reinstalling, i was only able to play an audio file once, after the audio finished, the issue was back.

I would say that the issue has been happening for around 2-3 weeks.
If this can help, i'm using Artix Linux on Wayland & Pipewire and i'm on KDE Plasma.

Please, can you share a log file with ALSA output?
