Title: How to enable DSD playback in Native instead of down-sampled to PCM
Post by: draco88 on January 18, 2026, 12:52:00
Hello fellow users,
Hope everyone is fine. I am new AIMP user, so please bear with me for asking simple question.

My problem is i tried playing DSD files such *,dsf, *.dff, *.iso (SACD), AIMP keeps down-sampling the playback to PCM 48kHz even though i have configure the "preference, sound output" to Device: Asio, and configure Asio drive to "ASIO native" (ie. native DSD).

In the option "Parameters: 48,000 Hz", I just cannot set it to "Off" or "to DSD Native". Looks like AIMP keep using this "Parameter" to down-sample DSD playback to PCM 48kHz.
Under "DSP Manager", i have tried to set everything to disable or uncheck.  Is there anything to set in DSP Manager to enable DSD Native playback?
Under the playback volume, i have also set to 100%. The Plugin "Direct Stream Digital [v2.10]" is also enabled/checked.

Appreciate it if anyone can help me on how to configure AIMP correctly to play DSD files in Native mode instead of down sampled to PCM.
Thank you.

(I have attached a screenshot of my "preference" setting.)

No. AIMP operates with PCM signal only

Thank you for the reply, Artem.
Noted that DSD will be resampled to what is set at "Parameters" Hz and bits.
I also noticed that even 192kHz FLAC files will also be resampled to what is set at the "Parameters" Hz and bits.
In short, AIMP is not bit perfect, it will always resampled all files to what is set at the "Parameters" Hz and bits.

Not true

it will always resampled all files to what is set at the "Parameters" Hz and bits.

Yes, it always output with specified parameters. It required for cross-fading feature and gapless playback.
