Title: AIMP submenu missing on Windows 11
Post by: Mamun on January 15, 2026, 17:45:35
Hello,

I am experiencing an issue with AIMP on Windows 11. The context menu does not appear when I right-click on audio files (.mp3, .flac, etc). As a result, options such as "Play", "Add to playlist", "Add to queue", and "Convert" are missing.

Here is what I have already tried:
- Installed both the latest and older versions of AIMP
- Edited the registry with CLSID {0041494D-5033-4472-6F70-546172676574}
- Applied compatibility mode (Windows 8)
- Restarted Explorer and rebooted the system
- Tested with multiple file types (.mp3, .flac, .wav, .ogg)

Unfortunately, none of these attempts worked. The submenu still does not show up in Windows 11, and I cannot queue files directly from the context menu.

Could you please confirm if this is a known bug in Windows 11 integration, and if there is any workaround or fix planned in upcoming builds?

Thank you very much.

AIMP uses the old context menu integration method, so it's not included in the new Windows 11 context menu. You need to open the additional (extended) menu of the old type in the context menu, which will contain the player and other programs with similar integration.

If it's not in the old menu, then:
Disable integration;
Restart your PC (not power off!);
Re-enable integration.

A brief explanation. The Windows 11 menu requires apps to integrate through a Microsoft Store installation with a new type of app (MSIX package extension instead of an .exe installer). AIMP and many other apps are built using the old model and therefore are not integrated into the new menu. Some apps have an additional "blank" app for menu integration, but this is questionable.

Hi. The new context menu in Windows 11 is very irritating. You can return to the traditional context menu on your Windows 11, as described here: link (https://bgassist.com/windows-11-kak-da-se-varnem-kam-tradicionnoto-kontekstno-menu/)
