Title: How can I stop AIMP displaying update notification icons in the system tray?
Post by: ivanlc on September 27, 2025, 17:26:05
Hi.

Is is possible to stop AIMP displaying update notification icons in the system tray in Windows 11? Maybe using a setting in the registry or by modifying a file in the installation folder for portable installations? 🤔

I have multiple copies of AIMP open, each streaming one of the 10 different radio stations I listen to.

I've installed it as a portable installation, so there shouldn't be any important configuration info in the registry.

I've checked the "Don't remind about this version" box in EACH of the running instances, but when I start a new instance, this box is unchecked again.

I want to change this setting in the installation folder so that I don't have to check it every time a new instance of the app runs.

I don't need to update the app frequently, as I only use it for streaming web radio, so it's annoying when I need to restart my system (Windows 11) and the system tray gets filled up with AIMP update icons when each of the 10 AIMP instances launch at startup and automatically detect that a new version is available...! 😣

There must be a PERMANENT way to stop the app checking for updates...

Kind regards,

Ivan

It can be done by disabling the plugin. It looks like you don't appreciate our work.
