Title: Silence removal tweak: "don't remove from the middle, only on ends"
Post by: Orator on June 25, 2024, 21:12:42
There are audio files that have pauses, long pauses even, so it would be convenient, if the silence removal could be defined to work on the ends only, so you don't get silence removed anywhere in the middle.

Now you can define silence removal on the ends regardless of the duration, but depending on your volume threshold setting the silence may be removed from the middle. Generally I've found -50dB a useful setting for most cases to actually cut silence from the ends but not too eagerly, yet there are audio files that have volume thresholds during pauses in the middle way below that.

As workaround: set threshold to maximum
