Title: AIMP Audio Converter Misrecognizing Double Disc Rips
Post by: noodlesoup on April 08, 2024, 21:50:58
I am new to using AIMP but so far love the ease of use and interface overall. I am ripping some discs from my collection that were not in my Plex library. A couple of them were two disc sets. After ripping the first one (which goes fine), and inserting the second disc, AIMP recognizes each of the songs with overlapping track numbers as the songs from the previous disc, and any additional track numbers beyond what were on the previous disc are not recognized and simply called "AudioTrack X". Is there a setting I am missing to prevent this issue? I tried inserting a different disc in between, to see if it was just a memory thing, but that did not address it. Thanks in advance for your help.

Sure, the player does not know whether this is the second disc or even a disc by another author. But you can specify output path and file name in converter settings

I suppose I am a bit confused as it "knows" the original disc, and every disc in between, but cannot seem to recognize that the second unique disc in a set of two happens to be completely different than the first? Other programs did not behave this way when testing it out.

In terms of specifying outpath, that is not a concern I have. File name, however, is impacted by the inability to recognize the disc as it is duplicating the track names of the previous disc on overlapping track numbers, and any remaining tracks are simply titled "AudioTrack XX" and I cannot change this inside program before starting the rip. The rename file field of the settings below only work if the title is properly recognized in advance (as far as I am aware), though I am newer to this software and could likely benefit from some experienced direction if there is a setting I am missing?

Yes, sure. App understand that its different disc, but app does not understand that numeration should be continued, not started from 1.

But you can specify template for output filenames.
