Title: A few random questions ... :-[
Post by: verbal on February 22, 2023, 21:04:54
- How to automatically locate moved/renamed files/folders?
Apparently "search for moved or renamed files" function during updating the music library doesn't get the job done.
If the playlist is made before changes, missing files remain missing even after updating the library.

- When searching for an artist or album through the whole music library, it is not possible to make a multi-selection of found albums and add them to the playlist using the drag-and-drop function. Instead, it's necessary to select each album one by one and add them to the desired playlist.

- Is it possible to move selected tracks within one playlist to the top at once, without dragging them through the whole playlist to the selected position?
Is there any shortcut for such an action?

- How to find/show only rated songs within the playlist without using grouping or sorting function?
If the order of the songs is already organized and only rated songs have to be deleted from the list?

- What would be the fastest option for importing only new albums?
In one of the old version drag and drop function straight to the music library was importing albums in a matter of minutes, now updating takes a huge amount of time, especially when the library is bigger in size. Mine is 270.mb

Thanks

Playlists and Music Library are different things. If you need to fix references in playlist, invoke the "search for missplaced files" command for playlist.

Why you think so?

Is it possible to move selected tracks within one playlist to the top at once, without dragging them through the whole playlist to the selected position?

Select required files and move it via drag-n-drop to specified position.

How to find/show only rated songs within the playlist without using grouping or sorting function?

Playlist does not have filtering feature by criteria. This is Music Library's task.

What number of files in database?

Ok, got that. It works.. thought that the player somehow replaces missing/changed strings during the update ..

I can't select more than 1 album, ctrl, or shift.. nothing works.. please tell me how  ???

That's what I do, but if the list has a few thousand songs, then It can be tricky, especially if the player freezes in the middle of that action...

My bad, also thought that there is a way to just filter rated songs within the list...

628 771 or 3607 GB of songs... player really struggles to handle that..  :(
If you go through my previous posts you'll see that I have had that problem ever since.. tried everything, hard disk prevent sleeper so that hard drives keeps on spinning, and I've got new hubs with an external power supply.. nothing helped .. only solution Im still using is to detach Local.adb file and send tracks to the individual playlist for the different rating.. then attach it again and rate all songs...

Wow. I have tested the app on 250 000 of tracks. It seems, I need to improve the code of database engine. As I understand you still using HDD?

Yes, app need some time to build file list. If selection is too huge it can produce freezing... But simple command, as you request, will freeze UI too.

No, this is not what I was thinking about, this works. But, when I use the search box for albums (left window) let's say If I search for one artist and I find a few albums. I want to select them all at once and put them In the list.. in that case ctrl+click doesn't work.. it just selects 1 album at a time ..

You still using HDD?
Yes, only system runs on SSD.
But still, what makes me confused is If songs are not in the music library there are no problems at all..  ???
... as soon I import them into the library it takes much longer to play the songs, rate them, use the search function, etc... music keeps playing but waveform doesn't move and the player is unresponsive... sometimes stays like that up to around 10 seconds and If I just click anywhere on the window during that time... Win pops that message... "Not responding.. close or wait until response"

Use table view for multiple selection. Grouping tree is just a filter, it does not able to select few filter criterias at once
