Hold the expand button

I have this same question, I've managed to cascade open huge amount of subfolders on the local files panel and closing them one by one takes ages (for some reason the UI has given me several headaches lately).
Hold the expand button
How is this applied? I tried to keep mouse button down on the right arrow at the drive letter, but that closes only on button release and when I open the drive again, all the subfolders are open as they were.
Wouldn't it be possible to apply a "collapse all subfolders" command for the right mouse button menu on the local files panel? That would help a lot and make things easy and intuitive to use.

What reason to do that? You can collapse just a parent level

Closing parent level doesn't close the subfolders automatically. When I open the parent, all the subfolders are still open there and it's quite a trouble to browse a long, long list of many open, nested folders. I would have assumed that closing the parent would close all the nested folders, but when opening again, there they are.
I also realised that there's this new functionality of the folders aka 'show all'. If I you're just browsing or have something written in the search field and then choose a drive or folder the content within won't show up, but you have to choose 'show all' underneath, which is quite confusing because previously you could just choose the drive or folder name, hence the current method seems like an unnecessary extra step to see what you're looking for, which also lengthens the folders list when you have few nested folders to open. Honestly can't see any feasible reason for this from user's perspective, functionality with less clicks and space taking elements is usually considered better.
Another issue that I ran into very recently with AIMP was that the playlist became floating by accidental trackpad stroke and I couldn't get it settled immediately so I terminated the program from task manager to start over and fortunately the UI was intact after that. Mediamonkey has had the similar issue of floating panels not wanting to set into the places if you accidentally pick them up, something I never liked, but I've learned to live with it and if the s**t happens, app termination and restart usually solves the problem, sometimes though I've had to resort all the way to settings from backup. It's always frustrating when user interfaces cause distractions you don't expect or want.

Ok, I will add Alt+click on collapse button for tree view too.

It available for local file system only

What you mean? We does not change behavior of music library filtering in latest release. Explain please, in more details.
